Hi, I'm Michelle, a scientist turned travel advisor! After years of trying to climb the corporate ladder in biopharmaceuticals, I felt burnt out, uninspired, and yearning for something more out of life.

While visiting family in my native Hawaii, I went snorkeling off the coast of Honolulu. Afterward, one of the tour operators thanked us for "supporting [his] dream of spending all day on a boat, looking at sea life," despite objections from his family. While he was somewhat joking, the sentiment happened to resonate heavily with me given my career stagnation. It was my sign to act.

Not 2 months later, I had packed all my belongings into a storage unit and bought a one-way ticket to London. People were floored when I told them I was going to Europe and I had no idea when I was returning. I knew I needed a change of scenery, some inspiration, and time away from the chaos of my industry to simply enjoy life and all the world has to offer.

I always knew I wanted to travel heavily throughout my life, but never knew how exactly that would manifest. It's important to be open to these types of opportunities when they present themselves. It was a once-in-a-lifetime chance for me, and I knew I'd regret not going.

To say I was a different person upon my return is an understatement. A few months after that trip, I became a Travel Advisor, then opened my LLC a few months after that. There's an indescribable gut feeling of paralyzing fear coupled with mystifying peace that lets you know you're on the right path. The universe always has a way of getting you there!
