Curated Travel Specialist (Europe / Japan)
Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, I inherited a love of travel from my mother who started bringing me on long road trips up and down the east coast visiting family from Virginia to New York to Florida to Texas and everywhere in between at only a few months of age.
My first international trip was to Japan when I was in the second grade and that experience shaped me like no other, opening my eyes to a whole world waiting to be explored. I developed a deep appreciation for other cultures and a taste for international cuisine that has continued expanding exponentially with each passing year.
This bacchanalian mindset went hand in hand with my passion for music and the arts. As a young girl I had the incredible experience of singing with choirs that traveled to Italy, Canada, and England multiple times on performance tours. I went on to train as a classical singer at The University of South Carolina and received a master's degree from the New England Conservatory of Music. In 2012 I spent a gap year in between those two degree programs studying at the state opera house in Darmstadt, Germany (Staatstheater Darmstadt). I used a Eurail pass to travel on my own to five surrounding European countries and explored Paris, Prague, Salzburg & Vienna, Amsterdam, Antwerp & Brussels, as well as numerous other cities around Germany such as Heidelberg & Stuttgart. I've sung mass at The Vatican and performed at Canterbury Cathedral, just to unashamedly name drop a few of the incredible locations I've been lucky to behold and experience their rich acoustics ringing with centuries of splendor.
In 2018 my (now) husband took me to Ireland to see our favorite band at Malahide Castle outside of Dublin. Our recent honeymoon took me back to Japan, with stops along the way in LA and Honolulu. We like to travel the world to see concerts in bucket list destinations. In addition to our love of music and food & drink, we are also members of the American Horticultural Society and we enjoy visiting botanical gardens wherever we go.
I just became a mother to a precious baby boy, so now my travel interests have changed from romantic travel, adult-only travel, nightlife and beer & wine or music festival oriented travel to family travel, baby friendly travel, and relaxation focused all-inclusive travel.
My career background as an executive business partner, project manager, communications director, and event planner adds corporate travel and luxury travel to my skill set, and I hope to combine my wedding planning skills with my travel planning skills to become a destination wedding planner. I've also planned Bachelorette and Bachelor trips.
I have experience planning and traveling to many European countries, Canada, Eastern US, Hawaii, and Japan, and I've lived in North Carolina, South Carolina, Massachusetts, Germany, and I'm currently based out of Virginia Beach. I'm looking forward to checking more locations off of my bucket list!
