Born and raised in Switzerland, I’ve always felt a deep-rooted connection to the land of alpine serenity, timeless traditions, and modern sophistication. Over the years, my love for this country has only grown stronger through immersive travels across its most stunning regions, from the heart-pounding peaks of the Bernese Oberland to the cultural elegance of Basel, the tranquil charm of Arosa, and the glitz and grandeur of St. Moritz. The Bernese Oberland holds a particularly special place in my soul. Every visit feels like a return to something ancient and pure. Whether it’s hiking through the wildflower meadows above Lauterbrunnen, riding the cogwheel train up to the Jungfraujoch, the Top of Europe—or simply sipping coffee in the shadow of the Eiger in Grindelwald, there’s an indescribable magic to this alpine wonderland. The region represents the very soul of Switzerland: breathtaking scenery, friendly people, and a quiet but powerful pride in nature and tradition. In Mürren, I remember standing on a quiet balcony as the sun dipped behind the snowcapped peaks, feeling like time had slowed to a gentle pause. Then there’s Arosa—tucked away in the Graubünden canton like a secret whispered to those willing to venture further. In winter, the snow blankets the village in peaceful silence, and skiing down the wide, well-groomed slopes brings an unmatched sense of freedom. Summer paints a different but equally captivating picture: hiking trails open up through pine forests and high-altitude lakes glisten like mirrors in the sun. Arosa is the kind of place where you slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect, with yourself and with nature. I’ve had some of my most reflective moments on those quiet trails above the Weisshorn. Basel, on the other hand, showcases Switzerland’s cosmopolitan heartbeat. It's a city where art, architecture, and history collide in spectacular harmony. I’ve spent countless hours wandering through the cobbled alleys of the Altstadt, admiring the colorful façades and medieval structures that seem to whisper stories of centuries past. Art Basel is, of course, a must, an explosion of creativity that places Switzerland firmly at the center of the global cultural map. But beyond the galleries and museums, Basel has a soul that reveals itself in riverside strolls along the Rhine, quirky street art in Kleinbasel, and late-night conversations over fondue in hidden cellar restaurants.St. Moritz, meanwhile, is elegance personified. Whether you visit in the icy grip of winter or the blooming beauty of summer, it never fails to impress. As a Swiss, I’ve always appreciated that beyond the celebrity and sparkle, St. Moritz remains deeply authentic. I remember curling up by the fireplace in a lakeside hotel after a long day of skiing the Corviglia slopes, and later walking out into a night so clear, it felt like the stars had gathered just above the Engadin Valley. In summer, I traded skis for hiking boots, exploring the UNESCO-listed trails and mountain lakes that surround this resort town like a precious frame. The natural beauty, paired with a sense of timeless luxury, is what makes St. Moritz unlike anywhere else.Traveling through these places has reminded me again and again how rich and varied our little country truly is. We Swiss are often known for precision and efficiency, but it’s our deep reverence for beauty, whether in landscapes, culture, or the details of everyday life, that defines us. I feel incredibly fortunate to call Switzerland home. Each region tells a different story, and together they form a tapestry of history, innovation, and enduring natural splendor. From mountaintop to museum, chalet to cathedral, my journey through Switzerland is a lifelong love letter to a country that continues to inspire, surprise, and ground me.
