My most recent trip took me to the stunning island of Bermuda aboard the Celebrity Summit, where I hosted a multigenerational group of nine guests in AquaClass comfort. We didn’t just visit Bermuda, we experienced it.Bermuda is far more than pink sand beaches and turquoise waters, though it has those in spades. This British Overseas Territory, perched in the Atlantic since being accidentally discovered by Spanish explorer Juan de Bermúdez in 1505, has a fascinating past layered with maritime legends, colonial influence, and cultural fusion. Its capital, Hamilton, named after Sir Henry Hamilton in the late 18th century, still pulses with charm, color, and celebration. We explored that history firsthand during Harbor Nights, where centuries-old traditions blend with vibrant modern island life.We toured the famous Crystal Caves, formed millions of years ago and discovered by two boys in 1907 when their cricket ball disappeared into the earth.

We visited the Bermuda Aquarium and Zoo, one of the world’s oldest continuously operating aquariums, opened in 1926 and set against the island’s natural beauty. And of course, we spent time on the iconic shores of Horseshoe Bay and Warwick Long Bay, where the island’s distinctive pink sand, made from crushed coral and shells, adds a surreal beauty to every sunset.From scooter rides through old railway trails to spotting British colonial architecture and soaking in the serene chaos of Sea Glass Beach, every part of this trip offered a deeper layer of discovery.
