My approach to travel advising is grounded in professional judgement, firsthand experience, and a strong focus on traveller preparedness and suitability. I spent much of my career working in Canada’s High Arctic, including time living north of the Arctic Circle, and that experience continues to inform how I guide travellers today, particularly for adventure travel involving remote regions, variable conditions, and increased logistical complexity.

I am an Independent International Travel Advisor with Onvigo and an Active and Adventure Travel Specialist in training. I specialize in active and adventure travel planning where realistic expectations, pacing, and preparation are essential. As an adventure travel advisor, my experience includes small group adventure travel, wildlife and nature based travel, African safari travel and primate trekking, cultural immersion experiences across North Africa and Asia, expedition travel to polar and remote regions, and both ocean and expedition cruising.

Rather than focusing solely on destinations, my role is to help travellers understand what an adventure travel experience truly involves before committing. This includes clear conversations around physical demands, environmental conditions, operator standards, group dynamics, and personal readiness. Not every adventure trip is appropriate for every traveller, and an important part of my work is helping clients identify when a different style of travel or itinerary may be a better fit.

I am particularly drawn to responsible adventure travel that moves beyond the familiar, but I approach these experiences with a strong emphasis on thoughtful planning and risk aware guidance. My background in behavioural and mental health work further supports how I work with clients who may feel uncertain about active travel, expedition travel, or journeys to unfamiliar or challenging locations. Clear communication, preparation, and confidence building are central to my advisory approach.

In addition to active and adventure travel, I also advise on ocean and river cruising, escorted tours, and carefully selected all inclusive vacations for travellers who prefer a more relaxed pace while still valuing professional planning and experienced support.Based in Kingston, Ontario, I work with travellers across Canada, the United States, and internationally. My focus is on helping clients make informed decisions, travel well prepared, and feel supported from the planning stage through their return home.
