I had the incredible opportunity to live in England for a full year as an enrolled college student—not as an exchange student, but fully immersed in life and culture. During that time, I was often the first American many of my classmates had ever met, which gave me a unique perspective on both British life and the experience of traveling abroad. I spent most of my time in Maidstone, Kent, but my adventures took me across the countryside, the historic cities, and the vibrant streets of London, as well as farther afield to places like Salisbury, Dover, and Chatham.

Exploring England became a true passion for me. I discovered iconic landmarks, charming villages, and hidden gems off the beaten path, and I loved showing new arrivals around as their personal tour guide. I planned every outing with care—from navigating London’s neighborhoods to mapping out the perfect day in Paris during a school trip that took us under the English Channel and through the highlights of the City of Light. Every experience taught me how to maximize time, uncover local treasures, and create memories that go beyond the typical tourist itinerary.
