Due to the extreme heat, many travelers chose to stay close to the port rather than venture to Ocean World. The area provided plenty to explore, including charming boutiques, cultural souvenirs, and a refreshing iced mocha made with real Dominican cocoa. It’s a great reminder that Puerto Plata can provide an easy, comfortable, and flavorful experience even without booking a full excursion.
