About Me

Theater & Music Travel Specialist
Theater & Music Travel Specialist

Hello everyone! Adam Richey is my name, and I operate Big Screen Big World (BSBW) Travel as a film and TV travel specialist. Another niche market that BSBW Travel provides exceptional knowledge and care for is theater and music travelers. From Broadway to the biggest music festivals across the globe, I have an intimate knowledge of that travel segment. Travel in general has always been a passion of mine, but entertainment destinations are my thing. After a prolonged and fruitless search for a quality company that can deliver the best in entertainment destination travel, I decided that I should fill that void for like-minded travelers who want to visit their iconic memories! I know most of you are probably asking, “What makes you so ideal to fill that void Adam?” The travel bug bit me at a young age, but my family typically wasn’t able to take vacations. That did not stop me from seeking out information and learning about countries and their best destinations. I gained an attraction to theater around the age of 12, and my passion for music was brought on by audiophile parents and siblings with a rather eclectic taste in tunes. Much of my physical media collection is classic theater and theater renditions of mega hits, and live concerts can put me in the right mood for any scenario...especially in those iconic historic locations. Whether it’s Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, Palais Garnier in Paris, London’s West End or making a trip for Coachella weekend, I know the destinations and how to get there!

My educational and occupational backgrounds greatly contribute to what I can do at Big Screen Big World Travel. I earned an Associate of Arts degree at Ashford University in Organizational Management in 2014 before going on to Western Governors University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in I.T. Management for Business in 2018. I have always been a detail-oriented and meticulous person along with my time management skills, but those attributes were kicked into high gear as I navigating online courses to gain my degrees. Occupational experience comes from an ideal mix of customer service (20+ years), sales (12+ years), operations management (8+ years), PC literacy (20+ years), marketing (8+ years), advertising (8+ years), data analysis (12+ years), data entry (12+ years), fraud detection (10+ years), and time management (16+ years). Though this will be a new adventure in terms of my career industry, I have an unparalleled passion for not just customer service, but building long-lasting relationships with people that will become family by the time everything is done. Sales is another element that I truly enjoy, and my approach is to NEVER pressure someone but try reach a point where we both completely understand each other and the expectations / deliverable results. I have also earned sales achievements with multiple organizations before launching Big Screen Big World Travel. Foundever, Alorica, Family Dollar, Movie Gallery, and HH Gregg have all recognized me for sales achievements. Honesty, active listening, knowledge, and empathy are my behavioral pillars. I am more than happy to laugh, cry, and shout with excitement right along with a person.

A BIT ABOUT ME

I live in Lyman, South Carolina after relocating from my hometown of Kokomo, Indiana in 2018. I can unfortunately assure you that it is nothing like the Beach Boys song, but it has it’s niceties and such. Music plays a big part of my life, and I enjoy genres ranging from rock to R&B to country to pop music and more. My music collection sits at well over 300,000 songs, including some of the best film and TV scores...further proving my love for entertainment as a whole. I am still a professional wrestling fan after getting the bug at 8 years old, but the fervor has calmed down quite a bit. Still some of my favorite memories are of WWE WrestleMania 22 and Ring of Honor in Chicago with my best friend. Seth Rollins, The Usos, Gunther, and Asuka are some of my favorites of today. Hobbies beyond those are admittedly more subdued than many may enjoy, as I will never go bungee jumping or sky diving; however, I do enjoy some excitement when traveling to new places and experiencing new things. Amusement parks are always a go-to option, but I won’t be riding the roller coaster made famous in Final Destination for obvious reasons. Animals hold a special place in my heart; I’ve had some combination or another of dogs and cats since started walking as a child. I’ve owned dogs, cats, lizards, turtles, hamsters, Guinea pigs, cockatiels, parakeets, lovebirds, an African gray parrot, and even a pot-bellied pig that once saved our home during a fire. I currently have a smaller group of pets now. A spoiled Maine Coon mix by the name of Charlie has my heart, even though I used to prefer dogs more. He is the king of the castle. He will not tolerate having any competition, but he’s a sweetheart with any humans that walk into the house.
