I’m Carolyn Maindonald from A Journey Awaits (.org) and I am passionate about travel!

Long before I became a travel advisor, I found excitement in not only personal journeys to new places, but also in planning travel, whether to enjoy myself or while helping others create experiences of a lifetime.  A Journey Awaits for each of us!My travel experience includes ocean and river cruises, all-inclusive resorts, tour packages, small group travel experiences, as well as solo travel. I also have considerable experience with event planning, including a single event attended by over 3,000 guests. A Journey Awaits can help.

Before relocating to the entertainment capital, Las Vegas, I spent 15 years in Boston, and grew up on the Connecticut shore. Having a passion for travel, coupled with family and friends throughout North America, the British Isles, France and Belgium, has led me on many great journeys.

Within the USA, I have extensively traveled throughout New England, New York, and all of the east coast from Presque Isle on the Canadian border in Maine, all the way to Key West in Florida. Other journeys in the USA have taken me to Philadelphia, Nashville, Memphis, Chicago, Saint Louis, Branson, New Orleans, Dallas/Fort Worth, Galveston, Lake Tahoe, the Grand Canyon, Seattle, the San Francisco Bay area, Los Angeles, San Diego, several of the Hawaiian Islands, and Alaska. Driving across the country led to great experiences along historic Route 66, including a stop in Winslow, Arizona!

Beyond the USA, I’ve fueled my passion for travel with journeys to many European destinations including England, the Channel Islands, Scotland, Ireland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Hungary, The Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, and Greece.  Journeys to the north have included Montreal, Toronto, Niagara Falls, and Vancouver. And to the south, I’ve had the opportunity to explore The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Grand Cayman, Grenada, Aruba, Curacao, Jamaica, Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama and Mexico.

Among my most notable personal journeys, I’ve taken a trans-Atlantic cruise where I met my husband! Navigated a Venetian flood in Italy. Cruised through the Panama Canal. White-water rafted in Alaska. Dined in the Eiffel Tower. Took the Chunnel from London to Brussels. Shopped the Christmas Markets in Europe. Saw the Vienna Boys Choir perform live. And so much more.

    We were looking to rent a motorhome for a week to take our little children camping. Carolyn found us a great deal on a 30 foot motor home for the week through the July 4th holiday as well as a nice campground near the area we were interested in visiting. We also mentioned that we may be needing to rent a car for a few days while we were there. Carolyn was able to set that up for us last minute on a Sunday afternoon. Saves a lot of time and hassle having someone experienced set up our vacations. Look forward to working with her again in the future.
