This is a 2 week family trip to Ireland, group includes 4 adults and 1 child. The itinerary is from a trip I planned for my family. Trip began in Dublin, Ireland, then to Galway, Ireland and the finally Cork, Ireland. We picked up a rental car at the airport in Dublin and returned it the morning of our flight. While in Dublin and Cork, we did a lot of walking instead of driving.

Guinness Brewery tour
Arrive in Dublin, Ireland around 10am, check into apartment at 3pm. Tour the Guinness Brewery and then dinner at a local pub.

Visiting Historical Sites
The day starts with a tour of the Trinity College Library. The next stop is the Jameson Distillery for a tour of the factory and the history. Last site for the day is St. Patrick's Cathedral. Breakfast and dinner at apartment, lunch at a local restaurant between sites.

Bushmills Distillery and Giants Causeway
Drive from Dublin to Belfast to visit the Bushmills Distillery in the morning. Then drive to the Giant's Causeway for an afternoon of scenic beauty. Breakfast and dinner at apartment, lunch at a local restaurant.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Giant's Causeway is a beautiful, peaceful, picturesque historical site.

Check out of apartment in Dublin, drive to next leg of vacation in Galway. Stop at Sean's Bar on the way. Sean's Pub is the oldest Pub in Ireland

Bunratty Castle
The whole day is spent at Bunratty Castle exploring the grounds of this historic site. The evening is spent at the castle enjoying an authentic medieval dinner and show.

Quiet Man Tour
The whole day is spent exploring the town that John Wayne's "Quiet Man" was filmed in. Explore the bar featured in the film that is still operating. See the house that was used for the home of John Wayne's and Marie O'Hara's home in the movie. The town also features a large statue depicting the main characters from the movie.

Cliffs of Moher
Day starts in Ennis, Ireland (we went here because we lived in Ennis, Texas at the time) exploring the small town. The afternoon/evening was spent at the Cliffs of Moher enjoying the beauty and serenity.

Check out of hotel in Galway and travel to Cork. Check in at apartment then walk around town exploring.

Blarney Castle and Mizen Head
Visit the popular Blarney Castle to kiss the Blarney Stone. Spend morning exploring the castle before lining up to have a chance to kiss the famous stone. Afternoon at Mizen Head visiting the lighthouse and bridge.

Skellig Islands
Weather permitting, take the Skellig Boat Tour to the islands where part of Star wars was filmed. If weather prevents boat tour, walk around the seaside town exploring all the quaint shops. Then head to the bustling town of Kinsale, famous for their colorful buildings and seaside shops.

FINAL THOUGHTS
One of my favorite trips to date is the 2 weeks we spent in Ireland. The history and culture is everywhere you look. Travel days were spent admiring the scenery. The people we met were friendly and very open with us!
