I grew up in Lewiston, a small town in western New York.  My grandparents all lived in Niagara Falls and Grandpa Charlie took us to see Niagara Falls every chance he had.  I have special memories of seeing the falls with him.  From the American side and the Canadian side, Niagara Falls is a beautiful place.  While some people will tell you the Canadian side is much prettier, it's only because when you are on the Canadian side you are looking at the United States side and all the beautiful colors cascading over the Bridal Veil Falls and the American Falls.  The Horseshoe falls, also known as the Canadian Falls, is almost entirely on the Canada side.  

While I don't live in New York anymore, I still visit and each and every visit takes me back to the place I can call home.  A few years back we decided to show the kids the tourist view of the falls, taking a ride on Maid of the Mist, walking through Cave of the Winds and even taking a jet boat tour.  Seeing Niagara on the Lake in Ontario, Canada was extra special when you can see your children experience it.
