If you love a good wine like I do, British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley is a must. With its sun-drenched vineyards, lake views, and boutique wineries, it’s the perfect place to sip, relax, and repeat.
Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a girls’ weekend, a solo adventure, or even a family trip, this journey can be tailored to fit just about anyone.
Nk’Mip Cellars – Culture in a Glass
Our trip began at Nk’Mip Cellars in Osoyoos—the first Indigenous-owned winery in North America. Their bold reds, particularly the Meritage, are unforgettable. The connection to the land and tradition is something you can taste and feel. It’s more than wine—it’s story and spirit in every glass.
Adega on 45th – A Hidden GemNext was Adega, a Portuguese-inspired winery with big heart and beautiful views. Their Cabernet Franc stood out, full of depth and character. This family-run spot is perfect for a slow afternoon tasting and soaking up the scenery.
Bordertown Estate Winery – Bold & BrightAt Bordertown, I was blown away by their vibrant, fruit-forward reds. Their Living Desert Red is a personal favorite—smooth, rich, and perfect for sharing (or not). It’s welcoming and unpretentious, ideal for wine lovers of any experience level.
Hester Creek – Full Winery Vibes - Hester Creek brings it all together—gorgeous estate, great food, and elegant wines. Their wine and food pairing experience was a highlight, especially with their signature red, The Judge. This is the kind of place where time slows down, and the wine just keeps getting better.
Kismet Estate Winery – And finally, Kismet—my all-time favorite. There’s a soulfulness here that sets it apart. Their Infinity and Mantra blends are deeply expressive, and the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. It’s not just a tasting—it’s a connection.
What makes the Okanagan so special is its versatility. Families can enjoy lakeside days and orchard visits. Couples will find endless romance in the vineyard sunsets. Solo travelers and wine enthusiasts? Pure bliss. And for a girls’ weekend? Think laughter, wine, and memories to last. Every glass poured here carries a story—and I’m already dreaming of my next sip.
Cheers to the Okanagan, and to loving a good wine.
