Earning the Certified Hawaii Destination Expert designation through the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau isn't just a credential I hang on the wall. It represents a rigorous, multi-level commitment to understanding Hawaii in its fullest depth, from its geography and culture to its tourism landscape and traveler experiences. Having completed Level 2 of the certification program, I bring a standard of destination knowledge that goes well beyond the basics.

My deepest expertise is rooted in the island where I was born and raised: Hawaii Island, known locally as the Big Island. From the volcanic landscapes of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to the sacred shores of Puuhonua o Honaunau, the lush valleys of the Hamakua Coast to the snow-capped summit of Mauna Kea, I know this island not as a visitor but as a local. That firsthand intimacy informs every Big Island itinerary I build, giving clients the kind of insider perspective you simply can't get from a search engine.

Oahu is my second area of deep expertise. As a current resident, I experience the island daily and stay closely attuned to its evolving hospitality landscape, cultural offerings, and visitor experiences.
