Traveling through the Baltic States - Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania - offers a fascinating mix of medieval history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cultural experiences. These three countries, located on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea, share a complex past y et maintain unique identities, making them an intriguing region to explore. Each country boasts a blend of historical architecture, natural beauty, and modern innovation, making a journey through the Baltics both enriching and unforgettable.

Estonia, the northernmost Baltic country, is a place where digital innovation meets medieval charm. The capital, Tallinn, is known for its well-preserved UNESCO-listed Old Town, where cobblestone streets, towering church spires, and medieval walls transport visitors to another era. Must-visit sites include Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Toompea Castle, and the panoramic views from Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform. Beyond the city, Estonia’s nature offers serene landscapes, from the coastal beauty of Lahemaa National Park to the windmill-dotted island of Saaremaa. Estonia is also famous for its tech-savvy culture, being one of the world’s most digitally advanced nations.

Latvia, positioned in the heart of the Baltics, is a blend of striking architecture and untouched nature. Its capital, Riga, is the largest city in the region and a treasure trove of architectural beauty, particularly in its Art Nouveau District, home to some of Europe’s most elaborate facades. In the Old Town, visitors can admire historic sites like the House of the Blackheads, Riga Central Market, and St. Peter’s Church. Outside the capital, Gauja National Park offers a retreat into nature with hiking trails, medieval castles, and kayaking opportunities. The charming seaside town of Jurmala, with its sandy beaches and wellness spas, is a perfect summer escape, while Sigulda becomes a winter sports haven during the colder months.

Lithuania, the southernmost Baltic state, is rich in history, resilience, and breathtaking landscapes. The capital, Vilnius, is known for its Baroque-style Old Town, one of the largest and most picturesque in Europe. Key highlights include the Gates of Dawn, Gediminas’ Tower, and the intricate beauty of St. Anne’s Church. For a deeper dive into history, the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights provides a powerful insight into Lithuania’s Soviet past. Just outside the city, Trakai Castle, set on an island in Lake Galve, is a fairy-tale-like destination perfect for a day trip. Further afield, the Hill of Crosses, a sacred pilgrimage site covered in thousands of crosses, stands as a symbol of Lithuania’s perseverance and faith. Meanwhile, nature lovers can explore the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO-listed wonder featuring towering sand dunes, pine forests, and picturesque fishing villages along the Baltic coast.

Getting around the Baltic States is easy, with well-connected bus and train networks making travel between cities convenient. Budget airlines and ferries also provide efficient transport options. Riga and Tallinn are cruise ship ports, but in Lithuania the most popular port is Klaipeda. The best time to visit is from late spring to early autumn (May to September) when the weather is mild, and the region hosts numerous festivals. Each season offers something unique, from the summer’s vibrant city life to the magical winter landscapes dotted with Christmas markets.

Traveling through the Baltic States is a journey through time, from medieval castles to Soviet history, all while experiencing stunning nature and modern urban life. Whether wandering the fairytale streets of Tallinn, admiring Riga’s architectural wonders, or exploring Lithuania’s breathtaking landscapes, each country offers a unique yet interconnected experience. The Baltics remain one of Europe’s best-kept travel secrets, waiting to be discovered by those seeking history, adventure, and a touch of the unexpected.

Michael made arrangements for us to travel from Tokyo, Mount Fuji and Hakone by bullet train to Osaka, Kyoto and Nara. He arranged all the activities for us and made it so easy! My husband and I went to Greece for two weeks, and had the most amazing time. We went island hopping, from Cypress to Rhodes, Crete, Santorini and Mykonos. Michael was tremendously helpful and made sure all of our needs were met. He even made some special plans for our anniversary. We couldn’t have asked for more :)

Turkey
Reviewed By Ptrz - Villa Park, CA | Traveled to Turkey | Middle East
Mike planned our trip to central Turkey. We flew into Ankara and spent a few days there, visiting museums and historical sites. We took the bus to Cappadocia, which was amazing! We then made our way to the old Roman town of Antalya, and the Roman ruins were very interesting. Then we flew back to Istanbul as a finale, stayed 3 days, and flew home. What a fascinating and enjoyable trip!
Michael Bitsas responded
"I am so glad that you thoroughly enjoyed your trip to Turkey! Please let me know when you're ready to travel again. It'll be a pleasure to work with you again soon."

One of My Top Travel Experiences - Australia
Reviewed By MMachelle - Chicago | Traveled to Australia | Australia & New Zealand
I used them to book my trip to Australia and I was extremely pleased with everything. It started with a conversation of where, when, etc. and it translated into a seamless & well organized trip. My flight to LA with a connecting flight to Melbourne went without a hitch. Mr. Bitsas is well traveled and was able to recommend some places he experienced when he went to Australia. He also connected me to this couple that reside in Australia that further elevated my experience. While in Australia, we mostly stayed in Melbourne but also flew into Sydney, took a ferry, stayed in a chalet, visited several animal parks. It truly was an experience. I loved my flight as I love planes. I appreciated my travel arrangements as all of my questions were answered, flights made, recommendations given and a lasting memory made. Highly recommend using Michael.
