Krakow

Traveling through Poland offers a rich blend of history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture. Whether you’re exploring medieval cities, relaxing in nature, or diving into the country’s deep historical roots, Poland has something for every traveler. From the bustling capital of Warsaw to the charming streets of Kraków, the country’s cities are filled with architectural gems and historical landmarks. Warsaw, which was rebuilt after World War II, features a mix of modernity and tradition, with highlights like the Old Town, the Royal Castle, and the Warsaw Uprising Museum. Kraków, known for its well-preserved medieval center, is home to Wawel Castle and the historic Jewish quarter of Kazimierz. Nearby, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial offers a profound and sobering experience. Other notable cities include Wroclaw, famous for its picturesque Market Square and whimsical dwarf statues, and Gdansk, a coastal city with a rich maritime history and a key role in the Solidarity movement.

Beyond the cities, Poland’s diverse landscapes provide plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures. The Tatra Mountains in the south are a haven for hikers and skiers, with Zakopane serving as the region’s cultural and recreational hub. For those who love nature, Bialowieza Forest, a UNESCO-listed site, offers a rare chance to see European bison in the wild. The Masurian Lake District, with its network of over 2,000 lakes, is perfect for sailing and kayaking, while the sandy beaches of the Baltic Sea coast in places like Sopot and the Hel Peninsula make for excellent summer getaways. Whether you prefer mountain trails, dense forests, or serene lakes, Poland’s natural beauty is both diverse and breathtaking.

No trip to Poland is complete without indulging in its rich culinary traditions. The country’s cuisine is hearty and flavorful, with dishes like pierogi (dumplings filled with meat, cheese, or fruit), bigos (a hunter’s stew made with sauerkraut and meat), and zurek (a sour rye soup with sausage and egg) offering a true taste of Polish culture. Visitors to the Tatra region should try oscypek, a smoked sheep’s cheese that is often served grilled with cranberry sauce. Whether dining in a traditional milk bar or a modern restaurant, Poland’s food scene is sure to impress.

When planning a trip to Poland, it’s helpful to know a few practical details. The currency used is the Polish Zloty (PLN), and while credit cards are widely accepted, it’s always good to have cash on hand for smaller shops and markets. Public transportation is efficient, with an extensive train and bus network connecting major cities, while local transport options like trams and buses make getting around easy. The best time to visit depends on your interests—spring and autumn offer mild weather and fewer crowds, while winter is ideal for skiing enthusiasts.

For those looking to explore beyond the well-known destinations, Poland has plenty of hidden gems. The medieval town of Torun, the birthplace of Copernicus, is famous for its beautiful Old Town and gingerbread. Lódz, a city once known for its textile industry, has transformed into a hub for street art and alternative culture. Lublin offers a glimpse into Poland’s multicultural past with its charming Old Town, and Zamosc, often called the “Pearl of the Renaissance,” is a stunning example of Renaissance architecture.

With its fascinating history, stunning natural scenery, and warm hospitality, Poland is a destination that offers something for everyone. Whether you’re wandering through Kraków’s cobblestone streets, hiking in the Tatras, or enjoying a lakeside retreat in Masuria, Poland promises an unforgettable journey full of discovery and adventure.

Michael made arrangements for us to travel from Tokyo, Mount Fuji and Hakone by bullet train to Osaka, Kyoto and Nara. He arranged all the activities for us and made it so easy! We overnighted in Hiroshima and even visited a Shinto temple on Miyajima. Then back to Osaka and home! We did just the right amount of sightseeing. Michael was a tremendous help and Advisor.

My husband and I went to Greece for two weeks, and had the most amazing time. We went island hopping, from Cypress to Rhodes, Crete, Santorini and Mykonos. Michael was tremendously helpful and made sure all of our needs were met. He even made some special plans for our anniversary. We couldn’t have asked for more :)

Turkey

Mike planned our trip to central Turkey. We flew into Ankara and spent a few days there, visiting museums and historical sites. We took the bus to Cappadocia, which was amazing! We then made our way to the old Roman town of Antalya, and the Roman ruins were very interesting. Then we flew back to Istanbul as a finale, stayed 3 days, and flew home. What a fascinating and enjoyable trip!
Michael Bitsas responded

One of My Top Travel Experiences - Australia
Reviewed By MMachelle - Chicago | Traveled to Australia | Australia & New Zealand
I used them to book my trip to Australia and I was extremely pleased with everything. It started with a conversation of where, when, etc. and it translated into a seamless & well organized trip. My flight to LA with a connecting flight to Melbourne went without a hitch. Mr. Bitsas is well traveled and was able to recommend some places he experienced when he went to Australia. He also connected me to this couple that reside in Australia that further elevated my experience. While in Australia, we mostly stayed in Melbourne but also flew into Sydney, took a ferry, stayed in a chalet, visited several animal parks. It truly was an experience. I loved my flight as I love planes. I appreciated my travel arrangements as all of my questions were answered, flights made, recommendations given and a lasting memory made. Highly recommend using Michael.
