MSC CruisesAbout Me
There’s something incredibly special about experiencing your first cruise — the excitement of setting sail, exploring a new ship, and waking up to an endless ocean view. My first time cruising with MSC Cruises aboard the beautiful MSC Seashore was everything I hoped for and more. From start to finish, the experience was smooth, relaxing, and filled with special touches that made it truly unforgettable.
The process began long before I set foot onboard, with MSC’s online check-in system making preparations a breeze. It was quick and straightforward to upload my information, find my boarding pass, and print out my luggage tags. I appreciated how organized and well-designed the process was — a small but meaningful start to an effortless vacation.
When embarkation day arrived, everything went just as smoothly. I was booked in an Aurea Balcony stateroom, which included priority boarding. Skipping the long lines and stepping directly onto the ship within minutes made me instantly feel like a VIP. To my surprise, my cabin was already ready when I boarded. I was greeted by a cozy, elegant room equipped with thoughtful amenities — a plush bathrobe and slippers, a pillow menu for a custom sleep experience, and a lovely diffuser that filled the space with a subtle, relaxing scent.
The Aurea experience came with a few standout perks that truly made the trip special. I enjoyed flexible dining times, 24-hour room service, and a welcome package complete with prosecco and chocolates — the perfect way to toast to my first MSC voyage. I also had access to the Thermal Spa area and a 10% discount on spa services. The snow room, in particular, was a fun and unique feature I hadn’t experienced on any other ship — brisk, refreshing, and totally invigorating!
Though the sailing was just four days, it was an ideal introduction to MSC Cruises. One of the highlights was our stop at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC’s private island in the Bahamas. Photos and videos simply don’t capture how beautiful and expansive it truly is. The soft, white sand felt wonderful underfoot, and I loved that free trams made it easy to explore the island. There were plenty of water activities, but I also appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and crystal-clear views. And even though I’m not a big fan of heights, I couldn’t resist braving the ship’s Bridge of Sighs — a stunning glass-bottom walkway high above the deck. It was both thrilling and awe-inspiring, even if I didn’t stay there for too long!
I also decided to try out MSC’s wristband, which provided contact less access to my cabin, onboard purchases, and even drinks on the island. It was convenient, though I learned it’s a one-time-use feature and that the keycard is still needed for debarkation. Still, it added a nice tech-forward touch to the experience.
Food is an important part of any vacation, and I enjoyed MSC’s dining options from start to finish. While the breakfast buffet wasn’t my personal favorite, every other meal was delightful — especially the specialty restaurants. I sampled Ocean Cay for its fresh seafood, Butcher’s Cut for an exceptional steak, and Hola! Tacos & Cantina for flavorful Mexican street fare. Each restaurant offered a vibrant, inviting atmosphere and incredible flavors.
As the ship docked back home, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of gratitude and relaxation. My first MSC cruise was everything I needed — stress-free, luxurious, and full of new experiences. I discovered that MSC Seashore offers the perfect blend of European elegance, modern comfort, and personalized service. For anyone considering their first cruise or curious about trying MSC, I can confidently say this sailing left me eager to plan my next adventure at sea.
