As a seasoned traveler and advisor, I'm becoming obsessed with Southeast Asia and Japan. Whether it's mother/daughter trips to Bali, family adventures in Thailand, romantic cruises in Tahiti, or skiing in Nagano, there's always something exciting to experience!
We just returned from an incredible trip to Bali with one of our supplier partners. My daughter (and travel partner) and I had a whirlwind adventure and plan to take other mother/daughter duos and trios next time. Bali offers so much—from the infamous swing to biking along rice paddies, seeing the elephants at their sanctuary, scuba diving/snorkeling or doing puppy yoga. The locally sourced food, luxurious villas with plunge pools, outdoor showers, and lush surroundings made for the ultimate opulence.
Our first trip to Thailand was unforgettable. Phuket felt like the Miami Beach of Thailand, with beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, and incredible scuba diving. Chiang Rai, on the other hand, was zen-like with stunning temples like the ethereal Wat Rong Khun and the colorful Wat Rong Suea Ten. The Doi Suthep temple in Chiang Mai, with its dragon-decorated steps and golden buildings, was another highlight, especially with a monk reading our fortunes.
Tahiti was a dream, especially for a Francophile like me. The French influence on bread and desserts was top-notch. We hiked Magic Mountain in Moorea, explored Bora Bora, and spent time in Papeete. The waves cut right in the middle of the ocean & it was exciting to see the surfers navigate them. The scuba/snorkeling was enjoyable as well.
Next up is Japan. Tokyo's Shibuya crossing was an impressive spectacle of efficiency. I enjoyed the city's parks during my jet-lagged early mornings and had a fascinating experience at a Mah Jong parlor, surprising the locals with my knowledge of the game. We are planning to visit Nagano for skiing, see the snow monkeys, and explore Mt. Fuji, Kyoto, Nagasaki, and more.
Let us help plan your next adventure to Southeast Asia or Japan. We'd love to help you explore the diversity of experiences, culture & soul-soothing serenity.
