Victoria on Vancouver Island is a beautiful destination: Go Whale Watching, Visit the beautiful Buchart Gardens, enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride, an enchanting experience, have tea at the Empress hotel, walk in the city where you can view local art, take a winery tour, visit Chinatown or enjoy a craft beer, the list goes on. 

Victoria is accessible by flying into Vancouver or taking the ferry from Port Angeles, Washington. We recently took the car ferry from Port Angeles and enjoyed the beautiful ride that included a brief glimpse of an Orca.

Once in Victoria, our hotel was on the waterfront where we enjoyed watching the water taxi and harbor planes touring the area. The city is vibrant with a European air along with indigenous roots.

The weather is lovely and getting around is easy. We visited Butchart Gardens as well as the Butterfly Gardens, went to an estuary and saw bald eagles and plenty of Canada geese and other birds. If you enjoy the outdoors and or city life, Victoria has it all!
