About Me

Iconic view of Patagonia!
Iconic view of Patagonia!

Travel to Chile and Argentina has so much to offer including Patigonia and Penguins!

Starting with Patagonia which encompasses the southern end of South America, in both Argentina and Chile. The region comprises the southern section of the Andes Mountains with lakes, fjords, temperate rainforests, and glaciers in the west and deserts, tablelands, and steppes to the east. Patagonia is bounded by the Pacific Ocean on the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and many bodies of water that connect them, such as the Strait of Magellan, the Beagle Channel, and the Drake Passage to the south.

If you are a hiker, the W Trek is located in Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia.  This trek takes hikers past the extraordinary sights that include the Andes mountains with lakes, fjords, rainforest and glaciers in the West. In the East there are deserts and unforested grasslands.   The iconic highlight are the views of the three granite towers that gave the national park its name. There are other beautiful highlights such as the hike through French Valley which offers a stunning view of a hanging glacier that comes straight from Paine Grande, the highest peak in the region where you may witness some tremendous avalanches. Another highlight is Grey Glacier that while retreating is still massive and very impressive. The best way to see this glacier is by boat where you can view the 3 faces of the glacier. A unique stay could be an EcoCamp for a sustainable rest in a geodesic dome.

In addition to Patagonia, Chile is home to the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve which is located close to this desert-integrated coast. When I ask friends what is on their bucket list both Patagonia and Penguins are usually on the list. You can experience both on a trip to Chile.

Chile shares its borders with Peru to the north (maybe Machu Pichu was also on your list), Bolivia to the northeast, Argentina to the east, and the Drake Passage to the south. The country also controls several Pacific islands, including Easter Island, and claims part of Antarctica as the Chilean Antarctic Territory. There are so many additional options for your bucket list trip! Easter Island is known for its volcanic formations and rocks and archaeological statues that one thinks about when Easter Island is mentioned.

Let me help you choose the right trip for you and your family!

Amazing hiking/trek Aurora Borealis chase in Norway.
Reviewed By Doctor Don - Tucson, AZ | Traveled to Norway | Europe
I usually don't write reviews unless the service provided was truly exceptional. Our trip was very complex with multiple "moving parts". Nancy Kemper was was outstanding in all the following: personal first hand knowledge of Norway and Aurora Borealis chasing; researching options to meet our specific needs; was efficient and detailed in trip planning; was flexible and helpful with changes; promptly responded to questions or concerns; followed up during our trip to make sure we were on schedule and sent reminders during the trip; vetting and securing a hiking guide; During the entire process Nancy was reliable, pleasant and affable. The bottom line is that we had an amazingly awesome Norway hiking trek and Aurora Borealis chase rated by our local guides as a 20 on a scale of 10!

Perfect trip to Glacier!
Reviewed By JenFam - Ogden Dunes, Indiana | Traveled to Glacier National Park | Montana | USA
While my husband has been to Glacier many times, we were so fortunate to have Nancy plan this trip for him and my son. She found a great cabin for them close to the park and a water rafting excursion. She was great to work with - very responsive, customized itinerary and thought of everything. Thank you again Nancy!
