Many luxury and premium cruise lines now offer special solo fares on select sailings, with supplements as low as 0% to 25% above the per-person rate. This is a huge shift that makes solo cruising a much more affordable and attractive option. It's now possible to book a beautiful stateroom for yourself without feeling like you're paying for two people.  

Cabins Designed Just for You 

Even more exciting is the trend of building ships with dedicated solo cabins. Lines like Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Holland America Line, and Cunard now feature sleek, stylish staterooms designed and priced specifically for one. These aren't just an afterthought; they are often strategically located and can even come with exclusive perks. For example, Norwegian's studio cabins grant access to a private Studio Lounge, a chic space to grab a coffee, have a drink, and meet other solo travelers. It’s your own private club at sea!   

A Social Scene, If and When You Want It 

Cruise lines now understand that "traveling alone" doesn't mean "wanting to be lonely." There's a new focus on creating a welcoming onboard environment for independent guests. You'll find solo traveler meetups and cocktail parties scheduled in the first few days of the cruise, making it easy to connect with others. Many lines will happily seat you at a large table for dinner if you'd like company. There are no expectations—you can be as private or as social as you wish.
