My family of four—my wife, our 8-year-old daughter, our 6-year-old daughter, and I—set sail on a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise aboard Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Treasure. We had previously sailed on the Disney Fantasy in January 2024 and loved that experience, so when we saw that the Treasure was sailing the same itinerary, we jumped at the chance to try Disney’s newest ship while revisiting ports we had enjoyed before.
Sailing the same itinerary again gave us the best of both worlds. We were able to experience new things at each destination without feeling pressured to explore every inch of the ports. Instead, we could spend more time enjoying the ship itself.
Both the Disney Fantasy and Disney Treasure are absolutely fantastic ships, each offering their own unique experience. The Fantasy has a classic and elegant feel, while the Treasure features a more immersive adventure theme. Though the Treasure is slightly larger, it didn’t feel overwhelming at all. The crew, dining, entertainment, and service were just as incredible as what we experienced on the Fantasy.
We stayed in a Deluxe Oceanview with Verandah Stateroom, which was nearly identical to our room on the Fantasy—spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family.
Our Itinerary & Excursions
• Cozumel, Mexico – One of the biggest highlights of our trip was the Atlantis Submarine excursion. My 6-year-old had been asking to go on a submarine for two years, and after our attempt last year was canceled due to weather, she was thrilled to finally experience it. Both of our daughters loved seeing the coral reefs and marine life from over 100 feet below the surface.
• Georgetown, Grand Cayman – We decided to stay onboard and enjoy the ship while it was less crowded.
• Falmouth, Jamaica – My 8-year-old and I headed to Mystic Mountain for an action-packed day. We rode the Sky Explorer up the mountain, took an exhilarating ride on the bobsled, and then ziplined through the canopy back down. She’s a thrill-seeker and absolutely loved it! The guides were fantastic, and booking through Disney Cruise Line made the whole experience seamless.
• Castaway Cay, Bahamas – As always, Disney’s private island was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beach before the trip came to an end.
Onboard Entertainment & Activities
One of the highlights of every Disney Cruise for us is Pirate Night. The deck party, entertainment, and fireworks at sea always make for an unforgettable evening.
The onboard entertainment was outstanding—just as we had experienced on the Fantasy.
- Beauty and the Beast – This show was absolutely stunning, with incredible sets and costumes.
- The Tale of Moana – This brand-new show, exclusive to the Disney Treasure, was breathtaking. The performances, storytelling, and sets were top-notch, and the Te Ka puppet at the finale was out of this world. It was easily one of the most impressive productions we’ve seen on a Disney ship.
Our daughters loved spending time in the Oceaneer’s Club, 1 of 4 kid-exclusive areas, meeting new friends and getting lost in Disney’s imaginative play spaces. Meanwhile, my wife and I enjoyed the adult-only areas, including the Haunted Mansion Parlor, which is a must-visit for anyone sailing on the Treasure.
We also took part in Disney trivia competitions—and even won one! Our daughters had another magical experience at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, getting full princess makeovers. Of course, meeting Disney characters, taking photos, and collecting autographs were also a huge part of the fun.
