Niagra Falls

Well, if I can start out giving you one piece of advice - spend the extra money and just fly to Canada and don't try and cut corners by flying to New York and then driving across the border - it may not end well for you - just like it didn't end well for my family.

Our flight was cancelled in Newark, NJ and we were told it would take a few days to get us to Toronto so we had to rent a car to get to Buffalo to pick up the original car and our luggage - which was able to fly (even though we weren't able to - go figure) and then finish driving to Toronto - but, we finally made it and had a wonderful time.

We started  out our trip watching the Blue Jays play the New York Yankees, which was the whole reason we went to Canada - to see the Yankees play - because that is the team my son was into at the time (even though we are from Texas) and he didn't want to go to New York for some odd reason (again, go figure).  So, like any good parent, I picked a spot where we were going to see and do multiple things.  After the game, we went up in the CN Tower, which stands 1375 feet high, with a glass floor.

The following day we went to Canada's theme park - Canada's Wonderland and rode all the rollercoasters - including Leviathan, which has a 306 foot drop at an 80 degree angle.  

Then we spent a whole day at Niagra Falls - and it did not disappoint.  If you go to Niagra Falls - you must see it from the Canadian side.  Absolutely beautiful and quite a bit to do.

Finally, we caught another baseball game - Blue Jays vs Texas Rangers.  Unfortunately, the Blue Jays won both games we saw.

Another reason you want to fly in and out of Canada - the lines to get across the border are excessively long - it's crazy - so take it from me and just fly to Canada.
