Shared Arenal Volcano Hike Tour
On this expedition, guests will take a guided tour through a private reserve located in Arenal Volcano’s slopes. It is one of the best places to observe the historic lava fields that buried much of the surrounding jungle during the dramatic 1968 eruption, as well as impressive views of the Arenal Volcano and Lake. The park offers two trails with a combined distance of 4.3 miles. While hiking lovers can do both in a day, we recommend the shorter trail of 1.5 miles. The hike starts relatively easily, walking through open fields and then entering a dense rainforest. Afterward, the trail starts getting steeper, and you will start seeing large lava rocks until arriving at a larger lava field. Once at the top of the hill, you will realize that it was worth all the effort! You will have front-row seats to observe the most breathtaking views of the area.
