About Me

Over Christmas and New Year’s, my family and I had the incredible opportunity to spend the holidays in Spain, and it was a journey filled with history, culture, food, and memories that we will treasure forever. Traveling in December turned out to be ideal—mild, pleasant weather during the day made it comfortable for sightseeing, and the festive holiday atmosphere gave each city an extra sparkle. We began our trip in Seville, a city that immediately won us over with its charm. Walking through the winding streets of the old town, we were surrounded by whitewashed buildings, lively tapas bars, and the sound of flamenco in the distance. Visiting the Royal Alcázar felt like stepping into a storybook—its intricate Moorish designs and lush gardens were breathtaking. The Seville Cathedral, one of the largest in the world, was equally impressive, and climbing the Giralda Tower rewarded us with sweeping views over the city. Evenings were some of the best parts of Seville, when we lingered in cozy restaurants sampling local specialties like jamón ibérico, fresh seafood, and churros with hot chocolate. Seville was a perfect introduction to Spain, offering warmth and hospitality along with a deep sense of history. From Seville, we traveled by bus to Granada, a ride that let us watch the Spanish countryside roll by, dotted with olive groves and picturesque villages. Granada was a completely different experience—smaller, with a mix of Moorish and Spanish influences that made it feel both exotic and intimate. The highlight here was, without question, the Alhambra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wandering through its palaces, with their intricate tilework and peaceful courtyards, was unforgettable. The Generalife gardens were still beautiful even in winter, and the backdrop of the snowcapped Sierra Nevada mountains made everything even more magical. We also loved walking through the Albaicín neighborhood, with its narrow cobblestone streets and hidden viewpoints overlooking the Alhambra. Granada’s food scene was another highlight—tapas culture is alive and well here, and we enjoyed hopping from bar to bar, trying small plates paired with local wine. Our journey ended in Madrid, the perfect city to wrap up the year. Madrid’s energy was infectious, especially with the holiday lights strung across the grand boulevards and plazas. We spent our days exploring landmarks like the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, and the bustling Gran Vía. The Prado Museum was a feast for the eyes, filled with masterpieces by Velázquez, Goya, and El Greco. But Madrid wasn’t just about history and culture—it was about atmosphere. The streets were alive with people shopping, celebrating, and preparing for the new year. On New Year’s Eve, we took part in one of Spain’s most beloved traditions: eating 12 grapes at midnight, one grape for each stroke of the clock, to bring good luck for the year ahead. It was a simple yet magical way to welcome the new year, surrounded by the joy and excitement of locals and travelers alike. One of the things that impressed us most throughout the trip was how easy it was to travel from city to city. The bus and train system made it stress-free to move around, and we were able to see so much without feeling rushed. The food in every destination was another standout—from tapas and paella to sweet treats and local wines, every meal felt like an adventure on its own. What made the trip truly special, though, was experiencing Spain during the holidays. Christmas markets, festive lights, and a spirit of celebration filled each city with warmth. The combination of rich history, welcoming people, delicious cuisine, and beautiful December weather created the perfect backdrop for a family holiday we will always remember.Spain gave us more than just a vacation—it gave us shared experiences, new traditions, and a deeper appreciation for travel as a family. From the palaces of Seville to the Alhambra of Granada, and finally to ringing in the new year with grapes in Madrid, every moment felt unique and unforgettable. It was the perfect way to close one chapter of the year and begin the next with joy, laughter, and the excitement of future adventures to come.

Jennifer’s expertise made the planning of our trip care free. She worked hard at finding us the best deal, the best accommodations. She answered all my questions without hesitation even when I asked her to change the itinerary. She had many suggestions on destinations good for myself and my family. It was my nephews 8th birthday and she made the hotel aware and they made his birthday extra special. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing trip.
