About Me

Hallstatt
Hallstatt

Austria is a land-locked, central European nation. From the alps in the west to the Danube river in the east and everything in between, Austria offers a variety of sports in all seasons; hiking, skiing, kayaking and more.

Vienna, the largest city in Austria is a perfect place to start your vacation. Besides the spectacular imperial palace of Schönbrunn, a must-see is St. Stephan's Cathedral. Take an elevator up to the visiting platform on the north tower, home to a massive bell, or head down to the church's catacombs and treasury. This city is also home to the world famous Vienna State Opera, offering unforgettable musical performances. You might also hear music of the Viennese composer Johann Strauss playing in the numerous summer beer gardens. Take a trip to the nearby Vienna Woods and test the "new wine"at a Heuriger tavern. Everyone loves the chocolate cake, or Sachertorte, originally served at the Sacher Hotel, but now widely available at cafes throughout the country. Try it with coffee - Vienna was the first European city to experience coffee, brought over from Turkey and they certainly know how to brew it! Not to be missed is the Spanish Riding School. Here the majestic white Lipizzaner horses are trained to "dance" to the music of Mozart. After a summer running in the Alps, they spend their winters learning the aristocratic equestrian ballet steps.

The beautiful city of Salzburg is a must for every visitor to Austria. The classic movie The Sound of Music has given many of us glimpses of the town and surrounding area. Wander through old city and discover the Mozarthaus, where Mozart was born in 1757. Taste the Mozartkugeln:chocolate covered marzipan and pistachio balls. Salzburg is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by beauty in every direction. The imposing Hohensalzburg Castle can be reached in minutes with a funicular from below and offer travellers breathtaking views.

St. Wolfgang, on Wolfgang Lake, is a charming town that offers tourists a cog railway up into the Alps. The Castle of Hochosterwitz is a most impressive medieval castle.

The city of Hallstatt clings to the side of a mountain, above a deep blue lake where one can rent boats. Because of its centuries of salt mining, Hallstatt was once wealthy and able to fill the city with important Baroque architecture. Many prehistoric graves have been found here. The cemetery is overcrowded and skeletons have been dug up and displayed in the spooky charnel house.

River cruises on the beautiful blue Danube River offer guided tours to the spectacular Melk Benedictine Abbey. Built in the 11th century, it straddles a rocky bluff above the river and is laid out around seven courtyards. Please do not miss the library, one of the richest and most important in Europe. The old city of Innsbruck is surrounded by snowy alpine peaks. See the Golden Roof facing the town square, 2,657 gilded copper tiles laid in1496 for the Holy Roman Emperor.

Anywhere you go in Austria, you can sample their wonderful beers and wines. Strudels, cakes and pastries satisfy all sweet-toothed visitors. Whether you decide to spend your entire vacation in Austria or are passing through and just want to visit for a few days, I am your go to expert!

Amazing Christmas Trip
Reviewed By marie - PA | Traveled to Slovakia ~ Europe
While visiting with family for the holidays, my husband and I wanted to explore the city of Bratislava. We didn’t have much flexible time, so we asked April to plan a quick trip that would hit all of the most popular sites the city had to offer. April more than satisfied our ask, charting out an itinerary that started at the Bratislava Castle, took a peek at the Blue Church, and ended with a comforting meal at a local pub. Thank you so much April!

Austrian Christmas
Reviewed By Elise - PA | Traveled to Austria ~ Europe
I’m an exchange student currently living in central Europe and really wanted to visit Austria during my holiday break this Christmas. I was able to visit some of the Sound of Music scenes, tour the beautiful city of Hallstatt (better known as Arendale to Frozen fans), and even meet up with a professor during some downtime. April was amazing and really helped me work within my student budget to knock off a few bucket list destinations!
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Balken Fun
Reviewed By Tim - PA | Traveled to Slovenia ~ Europe
While probably not the most well-known of Mediterranean countries, our recent trip to Slovenia will definitely stay in our memories as one of the best. Our family of four wanted to have the best of both a mountainous and a beachy vacation, and April delivered us just that. We were able to hike the Julian Alps, stand at the base of enormous waterfalls, take a train ride into the heart of the Postojna caves, and splash in the cool waters of Lake Bled. Highly recommend traveling with April!
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Fire and Ice Success
Seeing the Aurora Borealis has been a dream of mine for years. When my partner and I were planning a trip to Iceland with April, she made sure to highlight my wish and included several locations in our itinerary where we would be able to see the lights. And she definitely delivered! My partner and I saw the lights in not one, but three different locations!! April also included a snorkeling trip that allowed us to touch the North American and European tectonic plates at the same time (quite cold, but worth it!), a hike up one of the most recently active volcanoes, and a once-in-a-lifetime hot-pot dip (literally a hole of volcanically-heated water in the middle of a frozen grassland). We can’t wait to make more dreams come true with April!
