About Me

Coffee Farm in Da Lat.
Coffee Farm in Da Lat.

The journey often begins in Hanoi, the country’s atmospheric capital where centuries-old temples sit beside French colonial buildings and chaotic motorbike-filled streets. In the heart of the city, the Old Quarter is alive with street food stalls serving steaming bowls of pho, egg coffee cafés, and lively markets. Cultural landmarks like Hoàn Ki?m Lake and the Temple of Literature reflect the city’s deep historical roots.

Heading east, the landscape opens into one of Vietnam’s most iconic natural wonders: Ha Long Bay. Sailing through its limestone karsts rising from jade-green waters is a defining experience of the north, especially when mist drifts across the cliffs at sunrise.

Further into the mountains, Sa Pa offers terraced rice fields, cool air, and traditional hill-tribe villages. Trekking here reveals some of the most dramatic landscapes in Southeast Asia, where every viewpoint feels untouched and vast.

Moving into central Vietnam, Hu? brings imperial history to life through ancient citadels and royal tombs, especially within the Imperial City. Just south, the coastal route over the H?i Vân Pass offers sweeping ocean views and winding mountain roads that connect north and south.

The lantern-lit charm of H?i An provides a softer, romantic contrast. Its preserved Old Town glows at night with thousands of lanterns, while by day travelers cycle through rice fields, explore tailor shops, and enjoy local specialties like cao l?u and white rose dumplings.

Further south, Ho Chi Minh City pulses with modern energy, rooftop bars, historic French architecture, and wartime history. Sites like the War Remnants Museum and the nearby C? Chi Tunnels offer powerful insight into Vietnam’s past, while street food culture keeps the city constantly alive.

From there, the journey slows into the lush waterways of the Mekong Delta, especially around the C?n Tho region. Known for its floating markets like Cái Rang, winding canals, and fertile rice fields, C?n Tho reveals a completely different side of Vietnam—life shaped by water. Early morning boat rides through the delta show vendors trading fruits, noodles, and flowers directly on the river, creating one of the country’s most distinctive cultural experiences.

Finally, the route ends in pure relaxation on Phú Qu?c, an island of white sand beaches, turquoise water, and laid-back coastal life. Snorkeling reefs, exploring fishing villages, visiting pepper farms, and watching sunsets from beach bars make it the perfect final chapter to a long journey.

From the mountains of the north to the floating markets of the Mekong and the beaches of the south, traveling through Vietnam is a story of contrast and connection—where every stop feels different, yet part of one continuous, unforgettable rhythm.

Alicia helped me immensely with my spur of the moment cruise to the Bahamas for spring break. My friend and I wanted to surprise our daughters with a cruise for the second half of their spring break. Within the day Alicia had multiple options for us and included everything for us so we only had to pack our bags and have our travel docs ready! Thank you! Highly recommend!
