I LOVE ITALY. I want to tell you about the Amalfi Coast - no. I want to send you to the Amalfi Coast - a stunningly beautiful area of Italy, just south of Rome. This is the Italy in your mind when you picture sidewalk cafes, ancient cobblestone streets, and impeccably dressed Italians. You can visit a real working olive oil farm and sample the local specialties. You can watch them make mozzarella by hand - twisting and plunging the stretchy white cheese into a big bowl of hot water - and then delight in a traditional caprese salad with hand-picked tomatoes and a perfect balsamic drizzle, and sip on some icy limoncello when we are finished. YUM.
Since we're in the area, you need to go to Rome too! I'd like to send you to the Colosseum and the Vatican Museum before it gets too crowded. And Gelato! I'm probably going to recommend that you eat gelato every day. If you have more time, I'll send you to Florence too, the heart of Tuscany. You will love the art, the scenery, the food! The wine! Ok?! Now, let's get out of the hustle and bustle of these big cities and slow down in Cinque Terre... Google it. It's ok, I'll wait.
You can hike from one stunning clifftop village to another, or explore each one by local rail, or how about a private boat? Yes... and don't forget to visit adorable little Portovenere. Before you head up to Venice (cannot forget Venice!) we must let you experience those cities that make Tuscany the legend it is. Places like Montecatini, Lucca, Siena or San Gimignano. Once we get you to Venice, you'll see the canals by boat (no cars here!) and experience all that Venice has to offer. Not ready to go home? More of a mountains and lakes kind of person? Let's skip through Milan and head to Como or Lake Maggiore for some Italian lakes restoration and relaxation. Complex France River Cruise Trip Made Easy!

I saw Melissa's high ratings on-line as she proved to be "as advertised". I called Melissa at lunchtime and shared my 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices for vacation itineraries. My first choice was a visit to Paris and then a river cruise. Before the end of the work day, Melissa found an awesome Viking cruise in the South of France with Paris pre-trip as part of the package... and she'd established a hold on our accommodations. Melissa was very attentive as we took care of administrative steps to finalize our booking and during the time right up to our trip. She was extremely responsive and knowledgeable in answering our questions. Her email and phone call replies were very prompt. On top of that, thanks to Melissa, we were also able to make a last minute booking for my wife's brother and his family. She made it just as easy for them, even though they live out of sate. We highly recommend Melissa.

We returned from London yesterday and the trip was fabulous! While it can be easy to decide the main sights to see in a city like London, we really needed help finding a hotel that was in a good location and had two double beds - which can be a rarity in Europe. Melissa was a lifesaver, working hard to research and recommend a great hotel that met all our requirements. She knew the city and made personal recommendations on things to do, transportation and more. Her great recommendation put us right across the street from a metro station and just a short walk to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park (where we could escape and rejuvenate after a long day of sightseeing). The perfect family vacation abroad!

I knew that I needed help for international plans for our family of four. We wanted flexibility with a few specific details in mind. Melissa was wonderful at patiently continuing our search with us as our ideas became more clear, and I appreciate that she took all of our thoughts into consideration while developing the best plans for us. We had exactly the trip we were after - a combination of tours in various parts of Germany with time on our own, at family-friendly areas of the cities we visited. Unsure about what a travel agent could offer in this day of everything being on the internet, especially when I am use to making my own domestic travel arrangements. So glad that I took a chance and called Melissa, as I was traveling to Ireland, then Amsterdam. She had most of the answers to my questions and the ones she didn't, she found the answers and got back to me in a timely manner. She also had information/questions for me that I was not even thinking of. I had very little time from when I contacted her to when I was wanting to take this international trip. Airfare,hotels,trainfare, currency exchange,and transportation in between. She also researched some tours for us to try(with reviews). Very professional,very nice demeanor,which always helps when you can tell that someone cares about their job. I would recommend Melissa to any friend or family member looking to plan a trip. My mother and I were looking to plan a 2 week trip to Ireland and Scotland. First Overseas Trip was fabulous because of Melis

From the initial planning stages to the final execution all interactions with Melissa were fabulous. This was my first ever overseas trip. To say I was a little nervous was an understatement and to make me even more nervous I was doing the trip by myself but Melissa made sure everything was taken care of down to the finest detail.
I thought it was going to be a problem when the tour company changed the dates of my tour because the one I originally signed up for did not have enough travelers. Melissa not only sent me the notification to let me know of the change but she also contacted the company who I bought Travel Insurance thru to inform them of the change.
The only thing I had to do was go on my trip and enjoy it. Melissa took care of everything else.
I think my next tour will be a domestic one but I will definitely be needing Melissa's help again.

Fantastic Trip to Italy

My husband and I had dreamed of taking a tour of Italy. With all of the site seeing and history there, we knew we had to cram a lot into a short trip. Melissa was so knowledgeable on the country, and provided the perfect trip for us. She signed us up for the Monograms package in Sorrento and Rome, which was incredible. I highly recommend this package because it was the perfect combination of guided tours and "free" days where we were able to explore on our own. We then traveled up to Florence followed by Venice. Melissa booked us great hotels and the transportation from one location to another was totally seamless. It was such a luxury not to worry about getting around. Melissa was so responsive during the planning process, and even during the trip itself when I had last minute questions. The only thing I would change is the timing. We traveled in mid August, and it was uncomfortably hot in Italy!

A Vacation Worth the Wait

We told Melissa what we wanted to do and she delivered. She scheduled all of our activities/tours. Went to Oahu, Maui, and Kuwai. Nothing worse than being scheduled for a tour and not knowing when/where to be picked up. Melissa kept us informed when necessary. She was terrific! Some of our excursions took up most of the day. We realized we wanted to have a little more time to just relax at the beach/pool, and cancelled a couple of tours to do so. The Road to Hana was fantastic, but a long day, as was the Waimea Canyon tour. The Haleakala sunrise was breathtaking, but cold. Ziplining was a blast. The Arizona Memorial is a must. Had a great time before getting sick in the last few days of our trip.

Florence/Venice

Trip to Florence and Venice (September/October 2025)
Melissa was very pleasant to work with, knowledgeable, and she responded quickly to all our questions and concerns during the months it took to plan this trip. We also contacted her during the trip and she was available, to our relief!
The flights were well organized, with enough time in between each one to make it through the airports. Both hotels were perfect; rooms were quiet, breakfasts were outstanding, and the staff were welcoming and helpful.
Both Florence and Venice were still very crowded this time of the year which we didn’t expect. For the quieter season, we were advised to book travel for April at the latest or starting in November!
The transportation from the Venice train station to the hotel worked perfectly. Transportation from the hotel to the airport also worked very well, with a little concern the day before when the agency didn’t confirm as promised. Yet, they arrived at the hotel on the morning of travel as expected.
The one-day semiprivate tour to Cinque Terra was excellent, and my favorite day of the trip. We were seven passengers in a comfortable van with a charming and knowledgeable driver. She brought us to three of the five villages, traveling by train in between. In each village we had one to two hours of free time which was actually sufficient since they’re very small. On the way back to Florence we visited Pisa, where (to my surprise) the leaning tower is a very beautiful structure made of white marble.
In sum, the arrangements made by Melissa were excellent. We look forward to working with her again. Thank you!

Italy/Malta Trip 2025

The trip was fantastic. We truly enjoyed everything we did. Melissa was excellent working with us and making our arrangements seamless. Everything fell into place well when we were away. We had one minor issue but it had nothing to do with Melissa’s planning. Our train to Venice was to be delayed 30 to 50 minutes. The train service let us know of the delay but did not report back when the train made up the delay. We got to the train station at the time the train. Was scheduled to leave figuring we had 30 to 50 minutes to spare. However, the train had made up time and was now on time so we ended up missing our train and we ended up delayed and had to incur an additional cost for more tickets.

A Truly Great Experience

I am an elderly lady who has not travelled abroad for a long time, although as a young woman, I traveled extensively. Needless to say, things are very different now than they were back then, and I am not ashamed to say I was quite nervous about the upcoming trip. I need not have been. Melissa was very understanding and patient with me as we navigated the details of the my visit to London and beyond to see family and friends.
She organized the airplane tickets and seating, booked a really lovely hotel in the heart of London and even arranged my railway tickets for my visit to Suffolk. I am a little 'electronically' challenged so, not only did Melissa send things via email, but printed everything for me as well.
Everything went very smoothly and, quite frankly, I could not have done this without Melissa's help. She is a joy to work with. If I could give her more than 5 stars I would.

Melissa was fabulous in planning our trip to England and Scotland.
Never traveling internationally I had no idea what to do. I was planning a trip for 6 and got overwhelmed.
I then got Melissa’s name from a friend and she made it so easy, she planned everything from pickup from airport to planning what to do and see and she was spot on.
There were no glitches everything ran smoothly.
The only thing I wish we would have done was spend more time in Scotland.

Overall great experience with something for everyone in our group (ages 6-72). Everything was coordinated well and gave us the ability to see everything through cruising, trains, and excursions. It was an excellent way to see Alaska in a variety of ways. Melissa was great with handling the cruise details, ensuring we had timely reservations and she accounted for all of our needs. We saved by working with Melissa to create our own land tour rather than going through the cruise line and I would definitely recommend doing the same. Great Anniversary Trip!

For our anniversary we went to Europe for the first time together. Our trip took us to Amsterdam, Paris and London. Melissa planned all our travel for the trip making the reservation headaches non-existent. The hotels were amazing and in the best locations - we didn't know where to stay but the hotels Melissa picked were perfect. We had a wonderful time in Honolulu-Oahu. The hotel (Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort) was fabulous. We were located on the beach with easy access to local activities and tour busses. Every day was an adventure beginning with the Pearl Harbor tour, submarine ride, Dole pineapple, plantation tour, the Polynesian Luau and the Sunset Cruise. The tours were expensive but educational and fun. The food was excellent and the shopping was great with the many designer stores. Hawaii was a dream come true. Thanks to Melissa at Travel Leaders. It was a challenging trip to plan since this wasn't a cruise - we needed to arrange all ferries, transfers, hotels to get us from place to place. Melissa expertly worked with three different groups to arrange everything we hoped this trip could include. And with three people traveling it took a little hotel magic to get suitable rooms that could accommodate three -- a little more rare in Europe. The result? Italy trip pf a lifetime

In ‘19 we began to plan the trip of a lifetime w/ our college aged kids. Melissa helped us to book the most amazing itinerary! We had to postpone our trip in ‘20 due to the pandemic. She worked w/ the hotels, tours, etc to help us. The world began to open up so we re-scheduled the same trip for ‘21. The pandemic limited travel to Italy so our trip was cancelled AGAIN. Melissa was able to get us $ back/vouchers that we were able to use for travel in the US. Our kids are now out of college & working. But, we still wanted to take this vacation. Melissa (AGAIN) re-booked this trip for us. We just returned fr 13 days in Sorrento,Florence,Venice,LakeComo&Milan. Our drivers were always on time, professional & friendly. The tours that she booked/recommended were a great way to learn about each area. The hotels were conveniently located - great since there is a ton of walking! Ultimately we went with an organized tour of France and Spain with a few extra days in Paris at the end. Melissa was awesome to work with! She planned our trip to Italy and we were so happy because she knows all the best accommodations. We stayed in a lovely hotel that was a quick walk from the Colosseum and a million other places in Rome. It was so nice and convenient. Our hotel in Venice was also a quick walk from the train station and so beautiful. She made everything easy and awesome. Whenever I had a question or needed anything, she was right there to help.

Melissa has worked with my family on a number of occasions in recent years, and I am always thankful for her guidance. Her extensive travel experiences make her suggestions especially meaningful, however, a huge part of my thanks for our recent trip was her recommendation to purchase travel insurance. In our travel experiences, my family and I have not made that choice in the past. I assumed that it was only for major catastrophes. However, with the unpredictability of life in recent years, we took her advice, and I am so very thankful! Not only did I have peace of mind as we set off on our trip, I was shocked to find that some of the wrinkles that we encountered along the way were covered. Melissa worked very diligently to get this trip rolling for us. We had originally planned to go in 2020, and she had completed most of our bookings in 2019. Along came the pandemic, and everything changed. The tour was cancelled, the flight was cancelled and the Passion Play was postponed until 2022. Melissa kept track of the credits we were given and was ready in 2021 to re-book all elements of our trip to take place this year. She was patient and helpful when we decided to add on an extra day at the beginning of the trip. This required alterations to both our flight and our hotel, and Melissa handled those details with expertise. She also kept us informed as to when payments were due and when we could make train reservations. I felt comfortable knowing that the specifics of our trip were in Melissa’s capable hands, and I appreciate her travel knowledge and professionalism.

Wonderful Experience

I was having challenges finding a travel agency that would provide their expertise on a trip to Portugal. I selected Travel Leaders because it was close to my traveling companions.
Melissa was awesome. She had spent some time in Barcelona, where we spent three days, and was very candid about what we should do and expect; she was right. The next nine days were in Portugal and in spite of never visiting here, Melissa was right on when it came to our preference in hotel locations, tours and time off. She did a significant amount of research and we were able to book everything prior to taking the trip including a flight from Barcelona to Porto and train trips from Porto to Algarve and back to Lisbon. This really reduced the time spent and the stress attached to doing these tasks while traveling. Melissa was constantly in touch, even on her days off, and was very timely in her responses to info needed. (I even received an email while traveling.)

Melissa was awesome. She had spent some time in Barcelona, where we spent three days, and was very candid about what we should do and expect; she was right. The next nine days were in Portugal and in spite of never visiting here, Melissa was right on when it came to our preference in hotel locations, tours and time off. She did a significant amount of research and we were able to book everything prior to taking the trip including a flight from Barcelona to Porto and train trips from Porto to Algarve and back to Lisbon. This really reduced the time spent and the stress attached to doing these tasks while traveling. Melissa was constantly in touch, even on her days off, and was very timely in her responses to info needed. (I even received an email while traveling.)

My opportunity to visit Europe came up quickly and I had only about three weeks to make all of the arrangements. Melissa listened carefully to all of my expectations, needs, and restrictions and was able to put together a wonderful itinerary which allowed me to take the most advantage of the time I was in both France and Italy. Excellent overseas trip on short notice

Melissa is conscientious and calm and very responsive to follow up emails questions and phone calls She does excellent research and is persistent in her efforts to find the best possible solution at the best possible price. Melissa has planned overseas travel for me with only few weeks notice as well as domestic travel with more advanced notice. I have on each occasion been very happy with the arrangements . In planning a last minute trip to London Melissa found a wonderful hotel to meet my needs in the right location ,as well as a great ticket fare and airport car service . I had been a bit concerned about the last minute solo trip but Melissa's suggestions were perfect I would definitely recommend Melissa .

Melissa did a fantastic job of coordinating one of our best trips ever to Ireland. We spend 2 fabulous weeks there in July, 2017. Melissa was great to work with but her real strength is her responsiveness and ability to fix issues on the fly. As with any trip there were a few hiccups along the way and a quick text from Ireland and Melissa was on top of it and fixed whatever the issue was. I would highly recommend her to anyone thinking about traveling to Ireland. She has personally been to Ireland several times and really knows how to help you plan a wonderful vacation. We will be going back and we will use Melissa again to book our trip. She was AWESOME!

Italian Family Vacation

Melissa helped book and plan a recent trip to Italy. I was so thankful for her help the whole way! She helped eliminate stress out of the planning process completely. When we arrived Italy, we had means of transportation at every step of the way and never had to worry about a thing. A trip of a lifetime.

Successful first trip to Europe
Hi Melissa,
My daughter and I had a great trip to Vienna, Prague and Berlin. We really enjoyed the Monograms Tour company and agree with you that its a great way to have the benefit of a tour company while giving us flexibility when we reach a city. We ended up going on some of the optional tours through Monograms but also found some on our own as well. The local guide was very helpful particularly since it was my first time in Europe. We met briefly with the local guide the first day in Vienna and Prague and then took a 1/2 day tour the next day with the local guide and group. Both were very informative and gave us a great understanding of the city and its history. Since we stayed at the same hotel in Berlin as the Monograms group we ended up hanging out with several of the monograms couples from the prior cities.
Thanks again for all your help with getting this put together. My daughter and I have many great memories from my first trip to Europe!

Fun trip to London, Paris and Edinburgh
Thanks so much for helping us plan such a wonderful trip. We really had a fantastic time overall. The scenery was wonderful in England, so green. We got to see Stratford, Stonehenge and Bath. Normandy was very cool and a very long day, but very worthwhile.
We took at bike tour to Versailles, saw the palace, rode around the grand canal, had a great picnic lunch on the canal. We bought our lunch at an open air market in Versailles prior to starting our ride. This was our best tour. We saw so many wonderful things, so much history, we had wonderful weather overall. Each and every day we spent walking the city, using the metro systems, touring the various sites. We walked miles on this trip, so we didn’t gain weight with all the good food we were eating. We took 600 pictures of everything, and I mean everything. It was fun.
I so look forward to you helping us do another trip in the future. Don't know when that might be, but we'll be back.

Wonderful custom Italian exploration
Hi Melissa,
Our trip was absolutely wonderful. The tour was a bit exhausting, but we
saw and did a lot.
Our tour director, Jane, was the best and very knowledgable. Our train experience was just that -- quite an experience. The only one thing we would have changed, we would not have left Monterosso. We would have taken the train to Santa Margherita. But, as it was we enjoyed it. Portifino was beautiful. Cinque Terre was everything we had hoped. We took the train to Vernazza and Corniglia and loved it.
I don't think I need to tell you about the Amalfi coast. Spectacular! Our extra night in Sorrento was just what the doctor ordered after the tour. We loved it. Driving south to Calabria was nothing short of amazing. The two nights we spent in Paola was a true Italian experience, not to mention the time we spent with my family. The food we ate in the south as well as Cinque Terre was to die for. In Paola we literally had a woman who cooked for us. I could go on and on...

Smooth trip to London for the Tower Poppies

I am back from London and wanted you to know that everything went smoothly. Thank you! Transportation to and from Heathrow to the hotel was very good and did not take nearly as long as I anticipated.
Threadneedles Hotel was definitely business guest oriented but suited my needs well. It was only a little more than a block from the tube station so that I was able to get around very easily. Thank you very much for the excellent planning!

Also, a BIG thank you for the limo service to and from the airport that I understand from Doug was a gift from you. That made things soooo much easier, especially on the way home when we were all tired. The private tour of Normandy was phenomenal! Our guide was very knowledgeable and the lunch stop was incredible! You made travel planning for a big trip effortless on our part, and made it seem effortless on yours.
