Luxury in the Desert: Dubai & Oman

To celebrate our 10 year anniversary, I planned a trip for my husband and I to the United Arab Emirates and Oman.  We chose this destination as it was a region of the world we had yet to explore and could give us a mix of the glamorous city and the quite nature.  In Dubai we went skiing indoors, explored (and got lost in) the sprawling malls, went to the top of the highest building in the world, ate delicious food and so much more.  We then went to Oman for a few days of scuba diving, mosque visiting, explored the souks and hiked Wadi Shab.  To conclude out trip, we flew back to Dubai and spent one magical night at the luxurious Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa.  We started our stay with a couples massage at the spa before checking into our private Villa with its own pool looking over the reserve.  We then went on a sunset camel ride in the dunes before enjoying a delicious dinner outdoors with a gazelle wandering from table to table.  The next day, after a morning swim we enjoyed breakfast and packed up.  We had a late night flight home so spent the last day exploring Abu Dhabi before heading to the airport.  It truly was the most magical trip to celebrate our anniversary!
