My First Destination Wedding Booking: A Crash Course in Travel Agent Life 

Picture this: I had just gotten my supplier login, barely knew my way around the booking system, and BAM—my very first booking as a travel agent was a destination wedding with just under 25 guests. No pressure, right?

At this point, I had only ever booked travel for myself, which, let’s be honest, mostly involved refreshing the flight page 87 times to see if prices dropped, and family trips to Florida. 

But booking for a couple’s actual wedding? That’s next-level responsibility. I’d love to say I handled it like a seasoned pro, but truthfully, there were moments of sheer panic. I triple-checked every detail like a detective solving a high-stakes case. I may or may not have had a mild heart attack the first time I had to send a rooming list. And when the couple asked about group perks, I nodded confidently, then immediately did a deep dive to make sure I got them the best deal possible.

In the end, everything went off without a hitch. The guests were happy, the bride and groom had their dream wedding, and I didn’t accidentally book anyone a one-way ticket to the wrong country—so I’d call that a win! 

That first wedding taught me more than any training ever could: I love this job. With now over 1000+ clients traveled, I continue to strive to be the best agent for my clients. 

I love making sure couples get the wedding they deserve without stress, surprises, or spending hours lost in online rabbit holes. And I’ve been perfecting the process ever since.
