My name is Alyssa, and I have worked in the travel industry since 2018. I've had the good fortune to visit many beautiful places and have a 100% recommendation score, but today I want to tell you about the beauty of Vietnam. This Southeast Asian jewel is a place with a fascinating past, a thriving culture, breathtaking scenery, and kind people. Join me as we go through this beautiful land on a compelling journey.
In the vibrant capital of Vietnam, Hanoi, our trip gets underway. I fell in love with the bustle and charm of the Old Quarter's bustling streets the moment I set foot there. Vietnamese street food's enticing fragrances flooded the air, luring me to revel in their mouth watering flavors. Each mouthful of delectable food, including pho, banh mi, and fresh spring rolls, was a harmonic fusion of enticing herbs and spices.
I couldn't resist going to the revered Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum while I was in Hanoi. I was unable to help but feel profound reverence for the man who founded modern Vietnam as I stood in front of the sombre memorial. I gained a thorough appreciation of the nation's rich history and the fight for freedom by exploring the adjacent Ho Chi Minh Museum.
I traveled to Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, from Hanoi. I boarded an antique junk boat and floated across the emerald seas, encircled by soaring limestone karsts. I was in amazement of this place's amazing natural beauty as I watched the sun set over the serene water, putting a golden glow over it. I will always remember swimming in the pristine waters and kayaking through secret caverns.
I continued on to the quaint village of Hoi An on our excursion. I was taken back in time when I visited this old trading harbor with its charming, lantern-lit alleyways. While perusing the vibrant neighborhood markets, I couldn't help but try my hand at making a áo dài, a traditional Vietnamese outfit. A treasured reminder of my time in Vietnam was created by the talented artisans who brought my idea to life.
I traveled south from Hoi An to the bustling Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon. I got a sense of the city's vivacious character walking through the busy streets, which were crowded with buzzing scooters and fascinating street performers. It was a sobering yet educational experience to tour the Cu Chi Tunnels, a sizable underground network used during the Vietnam War. I discovered a new respect for the Vietnamese people's tenacity and resolve as I squirmed in the cramped tunnels.
I made my way to the Mekong Delta, a maze of meandering waterways and beautiful green rice farms, to fully experience Vietnam's natural splendor. While cruising the canals, I came across floating markets where locals exchanged items from their vibrant boats. I was in awe of the simplicity and harmony of their way of life as I took in the sights, sounds, and aromas of this thriving region.
I thought back on the amazing experiences I had as my time in Vietnam came to an end. Vietnam had captured my heart, from the busy streets of Hanoi to the quiet beauty of Halong Bay, the historic charm of Hoi An, the lively energy of Ho Chi Minh City, and the serenity of the Mekong Delta.
This remarkable nation offers an adventure unlike any other thanks to its rich history and gracious hospitality. Vietnam is a patchwork of varied experiences waiting to be experienced, from its energetic cities to its magnificent scenery. As a seasoned traveler, I can declare with certainty that Vietnam is a place that every adventurous person should visit. So grab your bags and let Vietnam's magic seduce you.
