Universal Orlando is one of the most immersive and exciting vacation destinations in the country, and it has grown far beyond the idea of being a quick add-on to another trip. With world-class theme parks, incredible resort hotels, and the addition of Epic Universe, it now offers enough attractions, entertainment, dining, and experiences to easily fill an entire week or more.

What makes Universal especially fun to plan is the variety it offers. While many people think of it as a destination primarily for older kids and thrill seekers, there are experiences for travelers of all ages. Families, multi-generational groups, couples, friend groups, and lifelong fans of Harry Potter can all find something that feels tailor-made for them.

That variety is also what makes planning a Universal vacation more complicated than many people expect. The right hotel can dramatically change your experience. A room that includes Express Passes may provide better overall value than a less expensive option once time savings are considered. The best ticket package depends on how many days you have available, which parks you want to visit, and whether experiences like riding the Hogwarts Express are important to your trip. Even choosing which park to visit on which day can have a meaningful impact on wait times and overall enjoyment.
