Few destinations offer the diversity and year-round adventure of Colorado—and after more than 50 years of exploring the state, I can confidently say there’s something for everyone here. From the breathtaking peaks of the Rockies to the vibrant cities and charming mountain towns, Colorado has been a personal favorite of mine for decades. I’ve not only vacationed throughout the state for more than half a century, but also had the privilege of calling it home for five years.

My extensive travels have taken me across nearly every corner of Colorado. I’ve experienced the historic mining towns of Silverton and Durango, the scenic beauty of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, the cultural heartbeat of Denver and Boulder, and the natural wonders surrounding Colorado Springs. Whether exploring alpine lakes, quaint downtowns, or hidden hiking trails, I’ve come to know the state’s unique rhythms and its best-kept secrets.

Colorado shines in every season. In the warmer months, it’s an outdoor enthusiast’s dream—perfect for hiking, camping, whitewater rafting, or fly fishing in crystal-clear mountain streams. Summer festivals fill the streets with local flavor, while scenic drives and national parks invite breathtaking exploration.

As summer fades, the state transforms into a golden masterpiece. Fall in Colorado is truly magical, when the aspen trees blanket the mountainsides in brilliant shades of yellow and gold. Scenic byways like the San Juan Skyway, Kebler Pass, and Trail Ridge Road offer some of the most stunning leaf-peeping experiences in the country, making autumn one of my favorite times to explore.

When the snow begins to fall, the magic continues. I’ve skied at Breckenridge, Keystone, and Monarch Mountain—just to name a few—and can guide travelers on where to find the best slopes for every skill level. Beyond skiing and snowboarding, Colorado offers snowshoeing, sledding, cozy mountain lodges, and charming holiday villages that make winter truly special.
