The Cruise Queen Chronicles
Let's start with cruises, shall we? Because after coordinating hundreds of cruise vacations over the past 14 years, I've earned my sea legs and then some. I've sailed on mega-ships with ice skating rinks and zip lines, boutique vessels where the captain knows your name by day two, and everything in between. I also have access to exclusive cruise deals for all major cruise lines and cruise destinations.
Why I Love Cruises (Let Me Count the Ways):
Cruises are the ultimate "have it all" vacation. You want adventure? We've got shore excursions ranging from zip-lining through rainforests to exploring ancient temples. You want relaxation? Hello, spa day at sea with an ocean view. You want to see multiple destinations without packing and unpacking seventeen times? That's literally the entire point of cruising. You wake up somewhere new, explore all day, come back to your floating hotel, and someone's already made your bed into a towel animal. What's not to love?
My Cruise Expertise Includes:
I've worked with every major Ocean and River Cruise Line – and I mean every one. Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian, Princess, Holland America, Celebrity, AmaWaterways, Viking, Oceania, Regent, Seabourn, and the list goes on. I know which ships have the best shows, which ones have the quietest cabins, which dining rooms are worth the upcharge, and which excursions are tourist traps versus hidden gems.
I can tell you that if you're prone to seasickness, you want a midship cabin on a lower deck. I know that ocean-view cabins on deck 1 might be cheaper, but you're staring at lifeboats. I understand that guaranteed cabins can be a great deal if you're flexible, but if you need to be near the elevator because mobility is a concern, we're going to be specific about our cabin selection.
Specialized Cruise Knowledge:
Over the years, I've developed expertise in some specialized areas that make me a little nerdy and a lot useful:
Ocean Cruising: I can navigate the chaos of multi-generational family cruises like nobody's business. Grandparents who want peace and quiet, parents who need adult time, teenagers who think they're too cool for family activities, and little ones who just want to see Mickey Mouse – I create itineraries where everyone gets what they need. I know which ships have the best kids' clubs, which ones have connecting cabins that actually make sense, and how to structure your days so you have both family time and personal space.
River Cruising: Ocean cruises are fantastic, but river cruises? They're a completely different animal. Smaller ships, more intimate experiences, and you're literally docking in the heart of European cities. I've sent clients along the Rhine, the Danube, the Seine, and the Douro. These aren't party cruises – they're cultural immersion experiences with impeccable service and usually an older, more sophisticated crowd. Perfect if you want to wake up in Vienna, explore the Christmas markets, and be back on your ship for a five-course dinner by evening.
Luxury and Expedition Cruising: Sometimes you want the mega-ship experience with 4,000 of your closest friends. Sometimes you want a 200-person vessel where the crew-to-passenger ratio means someone notices if you prefer your coffee with one sugar or two. I work with luxury lines that include everything from premium spirits to shore excursions in your fare. And for the truly adventurous? I've booked expedition cruises to Antarctica, the Galapagos, and the Arctic. These aren't vacations – they're once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
The Real Talk About Cruises:
Not every cruise is perfect for every person, and I'll tell you that upfront. If you get claustrophobic, hate schedules, or can't stand the thought of being around lots of people, a massive cruise ship might not be your jam – but a smaller yacht-style cruise might be perfect. If you want to deeply explore one destination, a cruise probably isn't your best bet. If you need complete control over every moment of your day, the structured nature of cruising might frustrate you.
But if you want variety, value, convenience, and the ability to see multiple destinations while only unpacking once? If you enjoy meeting new people, trying new foods, and having entertainment literally delivered to you? If you want your biggest daily decision to be "pool or beach today?" Then cruising might just be your perfect match.
