An Engineering Marvel - the Panama Canal
I have done a full transit of the Panama Canal through the original locks.
They are truly an engineering marvel - they operate using water and gravity.
In my opinion, the only way to do this is to do a full transit. This is a long trip and not everyone can do it.
There are 10 day itineraries that allow you to go through 1 set of the locks and back out again. That would allow you to see how it all works but not have to spend 2 weeks of vacation time.
