Emilia-Romagna is the land of slow food and fast cars. There's a culture of craftsmanship that's infused into everything they produce. From the kitchen to the factory floor, they believe in doing things right.
The northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna is known as the 'breadbasket of Italy'. Their crumbly, delicious Parmigiano Reggiano cheese is world famous. Aged in wooden barrels for decades, balsamic vinegar of Modena is otherworldly. Thin, silky Prosciutto di Parma, dry-cured ham, melts on your tongue. This region is heaven on earth for foodies. 24 Michelin-starred restaurants were listed in Emilia-Romagna in 2025.
Passion for excellence isn't limited to food here. There's a place in the heart of Emilia-Romagna where speed and style are elevated to an art-form. Motoring legends like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ducati, Maserati and Pagani were born here. Lovers of cars and motorcycles can visit the factories, museums, and private collections. All of this magic happens in the compact area of Motor Valley. Also, the famous Imola grand prix circuit is right here. And not far away are the Monza, Mugello, and Misano grand prix circuits. This is Italy for Motorheads!
Emilia-Romagna isn't tourist-trap Italy. It has culture and history without the huge crowds. Parma has a rich operatic history. Ravenna is famous for its Byzantine mosaics. Bologna has incredible medieval towers and the oldest university in Europe.
I have spent a lot of time in Emilia-Romagna. It's one of my favorite regions of Italy, and I love helping people experience it.
