2025 MARCH HIGHLIGHTS OF SOUTHERN AFRICA

Upon arrival at the Johannesburg Airport, go through passport control, collect your luggage and proceed through customs. Be met by your Ntaba guide and then walk to the City Lodge O.R. Tambo Hotel which is conveniently located next to the airport. Check-into your standard rooms for 1 night on Bed & Breakfast basis. Dinner is on your own account.

After breakfast, check out and walk to the airport terminal to check in for your flight from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls. Be sure to have your $30.00 in cash to pay for your single entry Zimbabwe visa when you arrive at the Victoria Falls Airport. Go through passport control, collect your luggage and proceed through customs. Be met at the airport and transferred to the Pioneers Lodge to check into your King room for 3 nights. You can order a light lunch at the Lodge (on your own account). Late this afternoon be transferred to the Zambezi River for an unforgettable luxury Sunset Dinner Cruise on the Malachite vessel. Enjoy the abundant wildlife and the beautiful sunset scenes. A three-course meal and drinks are served along the way. Return to the lodge around 8:30 pm.

After breakfast, tour the spectacular Victoria Falls. Visit the local craft market, then be transferred to the Lookout Cafe for lunch (on your own). You will also have the opportunity to participate in some optional activities (on your own), such as the gorge swing or the Flying Fox. After lunch, be transferred to an Elephant Sanctuary for an opportunity to interact with the elephants! Guests will venture out into the bush to spend time with the elephants. Witness the special relationship the staff shares with the elephants and become a part of it. You will have the opportunity to walk with the elephants, take photographs with them and feed them treats! After the encounter with these amazing creatures, you will be offered a selection of hot and cold canapés and drinks including local beers, wines, soft drinks, water, coffee & tea. After your experience with the elephants, be transferred back to your lodge. Return to the lodge. Dinner will be at a local lodge -TBD

Go back in time with a railway tram ride aboard the Bamba Tram! We start our journey through the Zambezi National Park watching for game along the way. We pass the entrance to the rainforest before crossing the Zimbabwe border post. We make our way onto the Historic Victoria Falls Bridge where we stop for refreshments at aTea and Coffee setup station. Take a short guided tour of the bridge, the Zambian knife edge peninsula, and the railway museum. Learn about the history of the railway and the building of this bridge. Transfer to the DustyRoad restaurant for Lunch. Dusty Road is a traditional Zimbabwean restaurant situated in the bustling heart of Chinotimba, the largest and oldest township in Victoria Falls. Meals are cooked the Zimbabwean way: on open fires and in cast iron pots and ovens, giving guests an authentic, wholesome and tasty food experience. At 7:00 pm, be transferred to the Boma for an enjoyable and festive evening with a traditional dinner and live entertainment.

After breakfast, be transferred to the Victoria Falls Airport and check-in for your flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival at the Cape Town Airport, go thru passport control and customs and be met at arrivals by a representative with a name board and transferred to your hotel in Cape Town, the Portswood Hotel, conveniently located on the famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Check into your standard room for 3 nights on Bed & Breakfast basis. Enjoy a free evening, with dinner on your own account.

After breakfast, with your private driver/guide, visit Table Mountain via the Cable Car (weather permitting), the World’s new Seventh Wonder, or visit Signal Hill (if weather does not allow visit to Table Mountain’s summit). Visit The Diamond Works for a diamond cutting demonstration. You will also find exquisitely unique hand-crafted jewelry pieces, authentic African craft, décor and gift items. Have a City Tour and see some of the places of interest in South Africa’s “Mother City” before proceeding to the Groot Constancia Wine Estate, ( or similar) for lunch and wine tasting of some of their locally grown wines. In the afternoon spend some time on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront for shopping and other attractions. Return to your hotel for a free evening. Dinner is on your own account.

After breakfast, depart from your hotel with your private driver/guide. Travel along the beautiful coast to Hout Bay. Continue driving along the spectacular Chapman’s Peak. Visit Cape Point, the most south-western point of the African Continent. Walk to the top of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean and the surrounding area. Visit the local African Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant overlooking False Bay. In the afternoon, visit the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy this beautiful garden and the diverse selection of local plants and flowers. At the exit of the garden is a gift shop worth browsing through. Return to your hotel for a free evening. Dinner is on your own account.

Fly to Hoedspruit (not Pretoria: site would not tag Hoedspruit). Transfer to the Shiduli Private Game Lodge in the Karongwe Private Game Reserve. Check into your luxury room for 3 nights. Enjoy lunch and your first game drive that afternoon. You will have the chance to see the Big 5 – elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard. A typical day in the Game Reserve: Expect an early wake-up call. Gather for refreshments before heading out at first light. The “big cats” may still be around after their night of hunting. Game drives are conducted in open game vehicles with your skilled ranger and tracker to find the animals of Africa for you to admire. Between your morning and afternoon game drives, have some free time to relax or be treated at the Spa. Late afternoon, convene for high tea, before departing for the day’s second African Bush Safari. Enjoy a sundowner drink along the way, get out of the vehicle to stretch your legs, and watch the sunset. Return to the lodge for dinner.
