New Orleans has its own character and personality. That is why I am proud to represent this unique travel destination among southern cities. New Orleans has its own style and cuisine, all which makes it that much more special. As your New Orleans travel advisor, I can recommend some thrilling sites and attractions. Whenever you choose to go to New Orleans, you will be rewarded with a warm and vibrant atmosphere - one that will leave you thinking about the palace long after your holiday. Most visitors go to New Orleans to explore the French Quarter or to engage in the yearly Mardi Gras activities. When you visit the French Quarter, next to the Mississippi, you will experience fine dining, one-of-a-kind entertainment, and a vibrant and historical atmosphere. Some of the old structures date back three centuries and display French styling, including arcades, red-tiled roofs, and black wrought iron balconies - all distinctively New Orleans. The French Quarter is home to famous avenues, such as Bourbon Street, which changes from a quiet place in the day to a boisterous pedestrian area at night. You can also trek down Royal Street, which is lined with unique shops and great places to relax and enjoy a noon-day meal, complete, of course, with famous New Orleans jazz entertainment. You can also hear the wonderful sound of jazz on Frenchman Street, a place frequented by talented musicians and true connoisseurs of fine music and Cajun classics. While visiting the French Quarter, you also want to set your sights on exploring the waterfront, namely Jackson Square and the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral. If you choose to go during Mari Gras, you will experience an event like no other in the world. The festivities begin before Ash Wednesday and last for two weeks. Part of the celebratoin includes daily parades where strings of colorful beads are flung from elaborate and vibrant floats. During this time, the French Quarter is packed, as it is the main area where most people congregate. The tradition of Mardi Gras, which was introduced by French settlers, really ignited by the end of the 1800s. Whenever you choose to see New Orleans, I can promise, as your travel agent, that you will have a wonderful holiday.
