Family Cruising on more affordable dates

Since kids learn more through travel than they ever will in a classroom it is easy to justify taking them out for a family cruise vacation on more affordable dates.  Consider watching as your child gazes out over ancient Rome Italy, fascinated by the architecture that looks like a water color painting. Or how about her face as she holds a monkey that belongs to a family that lives along the Amazon River.  Then try to answer the question "What is the smoke over there from?" There is no classroom with this kind of educational value. The adventure is well worth the days missed in any classroom. 

I guarantee the cruise dates that are more affordable will be when most schools are in session.  In a supply and demand economy this is easy to understand.  When the highest quantity of buyers are available in the summer - the price goes up.  When fewer buyers are available, once school begins, the price goes down.

If you make a strong plan to keep pace with the curriculum, your student won't miss a thing.

Our local district was apprehensive to allow a 16 day cruise from Santiago Chile to Los Angeles, stopping every few days at a new port of call along the Americas.  Policy states that a student that misses 14 consecutive days will be dropped, and the parents will be prosecuted. But we overcame that - with a solid plan for completion of potentially missed work.

I readily share my expertise in dealing with the opposition from Teachers and Administrators on this issue, because there will be opposition. In one case a teacher was jealous.  Yet in another case a Teacher helped. When the district superintendent said no - the Regional Office of Education said yes.

We have utilized private tutors, community college courses, and our student gained world travel experience that will last her LIFETIME!

The price could be the difference between your ability to go or not go!  I know it was for us. We could have never afforded this trip in the Summer Calendar.
