The author, Mark Twain, traveled to Bermuda several times during his life. At that time, the place was remote - a paradise that calmed his restless spirit. That same sentiment still prevails among visitors today. That is also why I love being a Bermuda travel agent professional. Bermuda is not only beautiful, its resorts and activities are what make up dream vacations and holidays. If you hear a description of the archipelago, you might not think much about the destination. Basically, Bermuda is a small collection of rocks lying in the Atlantic - about 580 miles due east of Cape Hatteras. While this group of islands may look like small dots on a map, they are quite the opposite once you land. You’ll love your flight over the islands, the sparkling blue water, the eye-catching colors, and its “triangle” mystery. Visiting the isle will leave you elated - the ideal tropical holiday. Not only is the ocean an amazing part of the scenery, its radiance extends to rainbow painted homes anchored beneath snow white roofs - a patchwork quilt surrounded by an ocean of endless blue. The land of this paradise rests on volcanic mountain peaks - mountain tops that climb steep above the sea, forming coral reefs, limestone masses, and sea shells. This land of and rock pinnacles, grottoes, and pillars has been honed by waves and breezes over time. On the island, coral is a great natural resource. In fact, the stone has supplied the island chain with a wellspring of construction and road-building material. While the stone can easily be cut by hand, it hardens to a bedrock consistency when exposed to the air. Although Bermuda is surrounded by the ocean, it has no fresh-water lakes or streams. Therefore, the islanders catch rainwater, and store it in cisterns underground. Around 180 islands make up the archipelago; yet, only 20 of the islands are inhabited.. Both scenic causeways and bridges link the seven largest isles. While the widest point measures a mere two miles, the surrounding ocean makes it feel like you're in a far larger sphere. Yes, Bermuda is indeed tiny, but it also has much to offer. For example, if you like adventure, you’ll get your fill in Bermuda. The island welcomes snorkelers, fishers, divers, sailors, and windsurfers. You can also shop to your heart’s content, play golf or tennis, enjoy a bit of island hopping, or sign up for parasailing if you wish. If you like to sightsee, you’ll find magnificent lighthouses, botanical gardens, a national aquarium, and the Naval Dockyard on the west end of the island chain. The main port and capital of Bermuda is Hamilton, located on the Main Island. Its population of 2,000 and land area of under 200 acres make the city one of the world’s smallest metro areas. You’ll also want to visit St. George, one of the island locales’ oldest settlements. The picturesque port is something you’ll want to include on your Bucket List of activities. Let’s talk about a visit to Bermuda today. Regardless of when you travel, you will find that this island adventure is one you’ll treasure each time you go. As your travel agent professional, I promise to schedule one island journey and travel experience that you will never forget.
