The reason I became a travel agent is the opportunity to combine two of my passions: Disney and vacations! I have been a huge Disney geek my entire life, and was privileged to travel with my family to Disneyland and Walt Disney World many times. They are my very favorite destinations to visit, and have created countless special memories. Over the years I have enjoyed helping other family members and friends plan their own Disney trips, and I am excited to share the magic even further!
My favorite Disney destination, without a doubt, is Disneyland. It truly is “the happiest place on earth,” and is full of so much history, charm and magic! There’s nothing like walking through the park that started it all. From seeing the candle in Walt Disney’s apartment window in the fire station on Main Street, to experiencing the original Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion attractions, you’re immersed in true Disney magic at its best. Another of my favorite things about Disneyland is that the two theme parks, three Disneyland Resort hotels, and Downtown Disney are all within walking distance of each other.
The experience of visiting the Disney parks is unlike anything else, and I love hearing about what stands out to each person. For me, I can’t get enough of the sight of Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella Castle with the iconic statue of Walt and Mickey in front. You can feel the excitement around you as guests smile and snap photos. I love the smell of the water in Pirates of the Caribbean or It’s A Small World, especially on a hot day. Every time I hear the opening music to “Fantasmic,” I get emotional from all the happy memories I have watching the show with my family. Plus, you can’t have a trip to Disney without eating food shaped like Mickey. Whether it’s a pretzel, waffle or ice cream bar, you can’t go wrong!
When I’m not visiting Disney, I never tire of experiencing it at home through the wonderful movies and music. “The Lion King” will always be my favorite Disney movie. Whether it be the animated classic, Broadway production, the live-action adaption, or even the sequel films, I love it all! Plus, you can’t help but be completely absorbed in the absolutely incredible music! My #1 tip for a Disney vacation is to be present and enjoy every single moment. Disney destinations are a great escape from the real world and a place to have fun and connect with family or friends, so take the opportunity to “forget about your worries and your strife” and be a kid again! Soak up all the magic and pixie dust you can!
