About Me

The beautiful Wachau Valley in Austria
The beautiful Wachau Valley in Austria

A river cruise is one of the best trips you can take. I say that having planned a lot of them, and watched clients come home completely converted.

Here's the thing most people don't know until they've done one: you unpack once. The ship moves overnight, you wake up somewhere new, and your room is exactly where you left it. There's no packing, no rushing, no orienting yourself in a new neighborhood from scratch. The logistics that usually consume the first day of every new stop just disappear. What's left is the destination itself, and you actually get to be present for it.

I specialize in European river cruises along the Danube, Rhine, and beyond, as well as Nile river journeys in Egypt. Europe's rivers run through some of the most beautiful and historically rich landscapes on the continent. The Christmas markets along the Rhine in December. The vineyard-covered slopes of the Moselle. The grand capitals of the Danube, city after city, each one different. The ancient temples and tombs along the Nile, seen from the quiet of a ship at dawn. These are experiences that stay with you.

One thing I always tell clients: build in extra days before and after the cruise. The cruise itself moves fast. There are port visits nearly every day, and the pace can feel like a whirlwind if you arrive exhausted from a long flight and board the same day. A few days in Amsterdam before a Rhine cruise, or a few days in Budapest after the Danube, turns a good trip into a great one. It gives you time to land properly, recover from the jet lag, and actually absorb the city you're starting or ending in. I build these add-ons into most of my river cruise itineraries as a standard recommendation, not an afterthought.

I work across price points and ship styles, from well-loved mainstream river cruise lines to ultra-luxury boutique ships where the food and service are genuinely exceptional. What I'm looking for in every case is the right fit for the specific traveler. Some clients want a lively ship with lots of fellow passengers and a full program of activities. Others want something quieter and more intimate. Some care most about the cuisine. I ask a lot of questions before I make a recommendation, because the ship matters as much as the destination.

I handle every detail: the cruise booking, flights, pre and post hotel stays, transfers, and any additional excursions or activities along the way. Everything connects, and everything runs through me so that if something unexpected happens, I can sort it.

If you've been curious about river cruising or have always wanted to try it, I'd love to help you figure out whether it's the right fit and what that trip could look like for you.

Unforgettable Experiences in Scotland
Reviewed By Jason L. - Oakland, CA | Traveled to Scotland ~ Europe
We were unsure what to expect when seeking a travel agent for our trip. We had a basic idea of things we wanted to do and see in Scotland, but it was very basic. Ultimately, using a travel agent helped us put together an itinerary that we would never have been able to do on our own. Finding spots between and around our original basic itinerary was extremely helpful. We experienced so much more of Scotland because of it. Further, helping to nail down the best places to stay and see in those locations was an immensely helpful thing the travel agent did. The activities that stood out the most were our daytrip to the isle of Skye, as well as our travels to Islay for various whisky tastings. Those are experiences we won't forget, and whenever we make it back to Scotland, we'll definitely be spending more time in both those areas.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Alaska cruise
Reviewed By Mike - Portland, OR | Traveled to Alaska ~ USA
Rachel suggested a cruise that fit our schedule and helped us navigate all the various offers and options for the cruise itself. She also showed us where to park for the week and suggested shore excursions that our family would enjoy together.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Amazing Galapagos cruise!
Reviewed By Jaclyn M. - Portland, OR | Traveled to Galapagos Islands ~ Ecuador ~ South America
Rachel is awesome! We loved our accommodations! Samari Spa resort was incredible; the Galapagos cruise was amazing; we really enjoyed our final night at ILLA Experience Hotel and wish we had more time to spend there. We emailed about this while on the trip, but wanted to put here as well: everywhere we stayed (except the final night - thank you for fixing, Rachel!) we had two twin beds. We're a legally married couple, and while I understand difficulties with same sex couples in other countries and by no means is your fault, it was a bit disappointing to show up and always have two beds. Overall the trip was fantastic. Just what we were hoping for!
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.
