My love of planning vacations began at an early age. As a young girl, my mother would map out all of our trips on our dining room table. I enjoyed sitting there with her and helping her piece it all together. It gave me a chance to read about where we were going and learn a little bit about our next destination before we arrived.

For more than 23 years, I have been helping my clients piece together all of their dream vacations. Some of my favorite places to book include:

• Italy — This destination has it all! Romance, delicious food and incredible history. I once spent 23 days exploring the country, so I can offer my clients insider information that other agents cannot.
• Morocco — I am certified to book this beautiful African country, and I love introducing my clients to the culture and flavor of this destination.
• The Caribbean — I am certified with many of the top all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, and I can help match my clients to the island that is perfect for them.

One of the things my clients love the most is when I pair literary recommendations with their upcoming trips. I always tell people who are heading to Paris to read at least one Ernest Hemingway novel, and I encourage my San Francisco travelers to pack their favorite John Steinbeck novel. 

I find that special events are the perfect excuse to travel, and I love making these milestone moments extra memorable. Recently, I worked with a woman who was planning a surprise 40th birthday trip for her husband. She contacted me saying she wanted to take him snowmobiling in Montana, but after some discussion, we decided Iceland was the perfect destination. For more than 8 months, we kept this trip a secret and we created a puzzle that he would put together at his birthday party. His friends and family were all in on the surprise, and he was truly astonished to find out he was leaving the next day for the adventure of a lifetime!

A favorite quote of mine comes from Helen Keller: "Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing."
