I just returned from an unforgettable trip to Banff, and I truly can’t recommend it enough! Tucked away in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Banff is the perfect mix of breathtaking scenery, outdoor adventure, and charming mountain-town culture. Whether you’re a nature lover, thrill-seeker, or simply looking to unwind and soak in the views, Banff has something for everyone.
Here’s a breakdown of a few highlights from my experience - and what absolutely needs to be on your Banff itinerary:
Sulphur Mountain & Banff Gondola
We took the Banff Gondola up Sulphur Mountain, and the panoramic 360° views were nothing short of spectacular. Once at the top, you can stroll the ridge-top boardwalk, enjoy interactive exhibits, and sit down for lunch at a mountaintop restaurant with a view that will leave you speechless. Don’t miss the short hike to the Cosmic Ray Station for some extra elevation and scenery.
? Pro Tip: Make time to hike the Sulphur Mountain trail at the summit - it’s well worth the effort!
Banff Upper Hot Springs
After a day of exploring, there’s no better way to unwind than soaking in the natural mineral waters at Banff Upper Hot Springs. The combination of warm water and snow-capped mountain views is simply magical. Pure relaxation.
Explore Downtown Banff
We spent an afternoon wandering Banff Avenue, which is full of energy and lined with boutiques, galleries, and cozy cafes. We stopped at Rocks and Gems Canada for some local treasures and grabbed natural products from Rocky Mountain Soap Company. For dinner, we dined at Nourish Bistro - a must for anyone who loves fresh, flavorful dishes. Their gnocchi was out of this world!
? Must-Try: The gnocchi at Nourish is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
Banff truly swept me off my feet.
It’s a destination that offers incredible experiences in every season, and I’m already dreaming of my next visit.

Best Travel Agent Ever

I emailed Austin about the 14-day cruise we wanted to book in November 2024 for a cruise in December 2025. He replied right away and went to work with all the plans & answered all my many questions. He helped with the travel insurance as well. 2 weeks later NCL canceled the cruise. Austin took care of everything and told me he would help with any future plans. I found another 14-day cruise 2 week later leaving March 2, 2025. Austin had us booked on that cruise the same day. He took care of transferring our insurance to new cruise & getting us all the discounts available. Since we booked that cruise so late all the good specialty dinner times were taken a problem we never had before. Austin told me to go to reservations desk as soon as we got on ship to change that. Well, that worked out great. By 11:15 am we had changed all 7 (5 more) & 2 platinum dinner times from 8:00 pm to 5:45 pm. We have booked with Yankee Trails before and use Austin whenever we can. He's friendly

Austin was incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable throughout the entire booking process. I booked a Norwegian Cruise with him, and he took the time to thoroughly explain the pricing, inclusions, insurance options, itinerary, and excursions.
At first, I considered removing the dining package, but Austin went above and beyond to clarify that it was actually a complimentary offering from Norwegian Cruise Line & I was only responsible for a $20 per person, per evening gratuity. Had I removed it, I would have ended up paying significantly more for both dining and gratuities. Thanks to his clear explanation, I chose to keep it, and my husband and I had an incredible time enjoying the specialty dining onboard & it was absolutely fantastic!

I usually do a cruise every year and do not use the same person when I call Yankee Trails, however, going forward I will be contacting Austin for all my vacations in the future. The Best Alaska Cruise Tour Ever!

The past 48 hours have been busy and amazing. We left Albany on Thursday afternoon and landed in Fairbanks, Alaska Thursday evening. On Friday we took a riverboat up the Chena River to a traditional Athabaskan fishing village. We also got to see a demonstration by the dogs who live and train with at Susan Butcher’s family. Susan Butcher is a four time alaskan Iditarod campion.
We then went to a gold mining dredge where we also go to see the Alyasken Pipeline. Our guide was Dexter who looked like a gold miner and had a ton of great stories. We also experienced panning for gold. I was the big winner with $32 of gold.
Denali National Park was amazing! We saw a bull moose, a cow (moose) with her calf, a lynx, a porcupine, a grizzly bear, three caribou, a few ptarmigan, and a couple of snowshoe hares.
