About Me

Lake Como
Lake Como

While Italy is a wonderful country to explore in its entirety, I have chosen to represent northern Italy as a travel agent advisor, as this part of Italy is home to Venice, Milan, and antiquities galore. No one should bypass a trip to Italy without taking a gondola ride in Venice. Nothing is quite as romantic as riding in the boat after dinner and settling back with a fine Italian wine. Plus, islands are featured in the Venetian Lagoon which are must-see destinations. Venice’s ferry transportation extends past the city to several inhabited islands. The first stop you want to make is at the village of Murano, where you can see artisans in the glass-blowing industry make their creations.  You will also see lovely churches, one of which features the paintings of Veronese and Giovanni Bellini. The small island of Burano is also a vibrant fishing village whose tradition boasts the making of lace.  The nearby island of Torcello, which was one of the first islands settled in the lagoon, is now fairly loney - its scenery depicting straggly vineyards, canals lined with reeds, and a Byzantine cathedral swathed in mosaic tiles. If you do see the lagoon islands, plan to journey back right before sunset. The waters take on a brilliant hue right before and the sun fades beneath the horizon. Make sure to take a closer look at some of Venice’s villas, such as the Villa Pisani, which showcases elaborate gardens and the Villa Foscari. Villas in Venice are centuries old and were built in the 16th to 19th centuries. Besides ferrying to islands, I also suggest a trip along the Great Dolomite Road - starting at the Adige Valley and ending at the ski resort, Cortina d’Ampezzo. The twisting and winding road runs for 68 miles (110km), wending through some of the most dramatic scenery in Italy. The Dolomiti represent mountains that overlook the Po plains in the south and gaze upon the Swiss Alps to the north. This is one of those drives you must add to your travel bucket list. You might also take a cable car adventure over Mont Blanc. For this excursion, you will be rising some 10,000+ feet to the glacial vistas on one side of the famous peak. You can view, from your suspended car, the deep fissures of the glacier, Vallee Blanche. There aren't many European adventures that compare to hiking the Cinque Terre - a group of five once pirate-inhabited seaside towns that are several centuries old. On the edge of the dazzling Ligurian Sea, these five fishing hamlets are connected by an ancient rail line and an unmarked hiking track that winds its way through the countryside.  Villagers also make their own wonderful white wine, which they distribute among themselves. There are still no major resort hotels or any sign of overdevelopment in this wonderful corner of Italy. You’ll only find trattorias along the little ports and homes and flats transformed into modest family-hotels and short-term rental units.  Can I send you on an adventure to Northern Italy? Why not contact me today for all the details? Let me help, as your travel agent specialist, to plan a vacation that is as memorable as it is exciting.

Susan Talbot is not just an excellent travel agent, she is also a wonderful, caring person. She cares about
her clients.
I have had many trips with Susan; from Hawaii to Paris, France to Barbados. All were handled with care
and professionalism. Her clients are important to her. That has been my experience as proven when my
husband took ill and had to be hospitalized in Hawaii. Susan was there to put us in touch with the right
people and followed through with all the arrangements even a&er we were home.
I never had to fret over any details of any trip. Susan took care of it all – personally and professionally.
You will have a great experience when working with Susan
