First Day There!

I get this question a lot and it's an exciting question to answer!

YES!

I DID go to school in the Virgin Islands. I attended college at Iowa State University, and got a duel-degree in Event Management and Hospitality Management. While there, I was blessed with the opportunity to do a university swap program with the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas and studied hospitality and tourism for a semester there.

The semester was a dream! I always knew I liked to travel, but all of my travel had been in the US with my family. This was my first time leaving the continental 48 States, and all on my own. I spent my days in class, beach hopping with friends, learning all the little spots of St. Thomas, and making memories of a lifetime. This experience is what led me to the travel industry, even though I didn't know it at the time. Looking back on my classes, "Cruise Line Management" and "Tourism" were amazing to learn first-hand from a major tourist destination and cruise port destination.

Weekends were spent finding new beaches, of course ranking them on our own made-up scale, and lots of excursions, so if you ask me the "best things to do in St Thomas", be prepared for a VERY long list!! Some of those things include a snorkeling tour, a day-trip to Water Island, a catamaran ride, and even massages on a yacht!

I consider St Thomas a second home to me, and can't wait to help you fall in love with it too!
