I’ve personally sailed the traditional 7-night Inside Passage roundtrip from Seattle on Royal Caribbean, experienced a California Coastal voyage on Princess Cruises that included Ketchikan, and completed an in-depth 12-day Alaska cruise aboard Oceania Riviera visiting the classic Alaska ports plus Wrangell, Haines, Klawock, and Sitka. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of how different itineraries, ships, and ports compare—and which ones deliver the most meaningful Alaska experience.

At each Alaska port, I’ve taken excursions and explored independently, including bear watching, eagle watching, wildlife viewing, food tours, scenic sightseeing, and cultural experiences. I’ve walked the towns, evaluated excursion quality, and seen firsthand what’s worth booking—and what’s better skipped. I’ve also spent time in Vancouver and Victoria, giving me strong insight into pre- and post-cruise planning for Alaska sailings that start or end in Canada.
