  I truly enjoy working as a travel agent specialist for Oaxaca, which is the capital of the Mexican state of the same name. If you are a foodie, you will appreciate the large selection of interesting fare to eat. For example, the city is well revered for its seven traditional variations of mole, a thick sauce served with rice and meat. Oaxaca also offers a version of pizza in the form of a tlayuda, a super big tortilla immersed in a delicious combo of meat, cheese, avocado, beans, and lettuce. When you see Oaxaca for the first time, two words will come to mind - colorful and vibrant. Indigenous people in the area also sell unique crafts and textiles, so you can take home some unique souvenirs. For instance, crafters make alebrijes, which represent fantastic animal figurines. The carvings are made of copal wood and painted colorfully. You can also choose from naturally dyed rugs, hand-embroideries, and kiln-made pottery. You can visit Oaxaca about anytime, as the temperatures are pleasant year-round. Days are usually sunny and the nights cool with the summer months slightly more rainy. If you go during the winter time, it tends to get colder and drier at night.  Some of the travelers I represent choose to go during a festival, such as the Day of the Dead in November or Guelaguetza in July, when locals dress in traditional dress. During the Day of the Dead, Oaxaca residents honor deceased loved ones by creating elaborate altars and memorials and painting their faces with sugar skulls.
