This dormant volcano is the tallest freestanding mountain in the world and is one of the famous "Seven Summits". Kili as it is referred to by locals offers several hiking routes. Safari: Of course, Kilimanjaro is not the only main attraction of a Tanzania visit. The king of the safari world- Serengeti National Park- is ready to introduce you to some of the world's most elusive animals right there in their natural habitat. Are you a big cat lover? Lions, cheetah, and leopards run wild across the plains. Elephant families trek great distances and straight across your path, while numerous giraffes peer out at you from behind rustling leaves. Once a volcano and now the world's largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera, the nearby Ngorongoro Crater provides a bowl effect backdrop for the huge herds of wildebeests and zebras that traverse its plains during their annual migration, as well as grazing livestock belonging to the semi-nomadic Maasai tribe. Ngorongoro is also paradise for keen ornithologists as it hosts over 550 species of birds- some that are resident and others that are migratory.
