Charleston Wine & Food Festival - Pinot NV Event
Charleston Wine & Food Festival - Pinot NV Event

My initiation into the world of culinary arts began when I was attending college in Charleston, South Carolina. This foodie city developed my ongoing love for wine & food and curating experiences focused around them.

If you are looking for a great travel destination, then you should consider Charleston, SC. With its charming historic downtown, gorgeous beaches, and abundance of cultural attractions, Charleston is the perfect place to explore and have a great time.  From beautiful gardens to amazing museums and a wide variety of restaurants and shopping, Charleston has something for everyone. As your Charleston, South Carolina travel agent and advisor, I can arrange a great holiday. First, take a stroll through the beautiful City Market. This four-block outdoor enclave is home to artisans, musicians, food vendors, and more. Wander around and check out the unique souvenirs and handmade items featured for sale - the ideal place to spend a lazy day in the late spring or summer. I advise following the market on its Facebook page and you’ll know what I mean. The market is the cultural heart of Charleston - a warm and inviting place that has a fantastic history. It was established way back in 1804 and is appropriately located on Meeting Street. Next, visit the Charleston Waterfront Park. This park is located along the Ashley and Cooper Rivers and is therefore the idyllic spot for a scenic stroll or bike ride. For history buffs, a visit to the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon is a must. This is one of the oldest buildings in Charleston, and it is home to a museum, the Provost Dungeon, and several other attractions.  During the time of the American Revolution, the British turned the bottom floor of the Exchange into a prison - the place for the Provost Dungeon. It takes about an hour to take the self-guided tour. Even if you’re not into history, you’ll love visiting this old building. You can learn more about the attraction here. Finally, don't miss the aquarium. The South Carolina Aquarium is a great place to learn about sea life and even go on dolphin-watching cruises. The aquarium also features interactive exhibits, feeding shows, and educational programs. Here’s another place you want to follow on Facebook. Charleston is the epitome of everything historic, architectural, and outdoorsy. I always tell clients that it’s one place where you can really explore. Whether you’re dining and sampling new cuisine or hiking in a state park, you’ll make some sensational discoveries. That’s why I alway advise vacationers to begin in Charleston’s historic downtown. Stroll leisurely along cobblestone streets - streets that allow you to escape to another time and place. Stop at iconic landmarks like the Battery at Fort Sumter. Arrange a visit to Pineapple Fountain and make a wish at this Waterfront Park landmark. The park rests along the Ravenel Bridge and Charleston Harbor. It also features a splash fountain for kids of all ages - something to do during the hot Lowcountry summer. You’ll discover that Charleston uses pineapple motifs in the city - iconic images that brand the city in the minds of tourists and visitors. Of course I can’t talk about Charleston without mentioning its beaches - pristine sands that stretch along the Atlantic Ocean. Make plans to visit the Isle of Palms for long shore walks or go to Folly Beach and surf or fish. You’ll also be mesmerized by the Charleston area’s stunning plantations and its excellent museums. In fact, the Charleston Museum is the oldest museum in the U.S. Get to know the city through the museum’s collection of arts, artifacts, and displays. You’ll also want to pay a visit to the Confederate Museum. Market Hall in Charleston is home to the Confederate Museum. The hall was a business hub in the city for many years from its establishment in 1899, and also served as a recruiting station during the Civil War. The museum itself is an exemplary example of the Greek Revival style of architecture. It’s been restored to its prior grandeur. Below are other attractions that you’ll want to consider on your vacation to Charleston:

1. The Gibbes Museum of Art: Located in the heart of downtown, this museum not only houses a stunning range of both traditional and modern art but also offers an array of educational programs and events. 2. The Magnolia Plantation and Gardens: Enjoy a leisurely stroll through this historic plantation and take in the scenery of the gardens and grounds. 3. Middleton Place: A beautiful estate with picturesque grounds, gardens and ponds. 4. Angel Oak Tree: An ancient and majestic live oak tree estimated to be between 400-500 years old. Start planning your visit to explore this amazing city and all it has to offer! Give me a call to begin trip planning now. I look forward to helping you with your vacation plans to Charleston. As your Charleston travel specialist, I can create a memorable holiday. Amazing Trip to Taos
Reviewed By Matti - Tulsa, OK | Traveled to Taos ~ New Mexico ~ USA
Cara really has an keen eye for detail and helped us find an awesome house on our last vacation mountain trip to Taos. Not only was it centrally located (1/2 way between the mountains and the town) but bigger than we had hoped for, and the hot tub was clutch after the strenuous days tearing up the slopes at the ski resort. On top of that, we got a phenomenal travel deal by staying an extra day, and getting a multi-day vacation discount! Will definitely use her services again when we head out West! 5 out of 5 stars!
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

I CANNOT thank Cara enough for helping us plan our trip to Charleston. We were able to stay at the most beautiful hotel Emeline, which was perfect during Covid with their outdoor open air courtyard and cozy fireplace. Cara's dinner recommendations were unmatched! We especially loved the variety of listings she offered from casual lunch atmosphere at Leon’s to a luxurious perfectly seared filet at Hall Chophouse. We will definitely be calling Cara for future vacation planning!
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Cara is an excellent planner which lends well to travel logistics and organizing. Our trip to Napa and Sonoma was perfectly executed. We had days worth of itinerary that she coordinated with her wine industry contacts. Some of our daily vacation activities included winery exploration and wine tastings at several Napa valley locations and our lodging and dinner reservations were all carefully curated to make the most of our holiday. We had such a great trip and travel experience that I know it all started with excellent & reliable strategic planning and well thought out destinations. From convenient direct flights, favorable accommodations and luxury car rental upgrades, Cara has always been able to juggle large groups, diverse travel schedules and the ability to facilitate a wonderful vacation. Many of her skills help create effortless and stress free travel which is crucial to help you make positive memories for your next trip.

Group Trip to Lake Tahoe
Reviewed By Hastings - Alexandria, VA | Traveled to Lake Tahoe ~ California ~ USA
Cara recently curated a Lake Tahoe girls trip for 10 of us in September 2020. Her attention to detail is second to none. To start, Cara found and booked our rental dream home that checked all our requirements. The house exceeded everyone’s expectations and even came with a couple of upgrades we didn’t know we would enjoy, such as a sauna and gourmet kitchen. Cara also planned a number of vacation activities for the week, all while taking into consideration our limitations due to the pandemic. Cara also hand selected several cases of wine for our group and had them waiting at the house upon our arrival along with our groceries and other trip necessities. She even found a local cheese shop that was 5 minutes from the house and told us what selection paired well with the wine that she had picked out. Cara made it a true vacation by taking all the planning off our hands, allowing us to finally relax.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Bachelorette weekend in NOLA!
Reviewed By Leslie - Charleston, SC | Traveled to New Orleans ~ Louisiana ~ USA
Cara planned my bachelorette vacation weekend in New Orleans, LA. She found the cutest villa and flawlessly coordinated transportation to and from the airport for 10 girls, arriving from multiple locations around the US. When we arrived at our private house we had personally curated gift bags waiting for each of us! Overall we had a weekend full of excellent food, great wine, lots of live music and fun activities! Cara even planned a bicycle food & wine tour that included lunch at the famous restaurant Cochon! I can't recommend Cara enough for whatever vacation you have planned, she will not disappoint!
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

    The "Cara Difference"
If you want a seamless trip with all the perks, Cara will make it happen. Starting with letting her handle booking your private jet needs. We previously used private jet memberships but found out once we were in a jam, they were nowhere to be found. With Cara, she is accessible at every step of your journey. Today, she booked a private jet for us with multiple stops to pick up family members for an exciting trip that she customized for us. That is “the Cara difference!”
