About Me

Kirkjufell Mountain and Kirkjufellsfoss Waterfall
Kirkjufell Mountain and Kirkjufellsfoss Waterfall

Iceland has been on my own bucket list for many years and finally I had a chance to travel to this country of contrasts, known as the country of fire and ice, of erupting volcanoes and large glaciers.

For my first time visit to Iceland I choose a guided tour that would start in Reykjavik and travel along the southeast and southwest of Iceland.

I was fortunate to have nice weather throughout all week of the tour. In Iceland weather can be quite unpredictable and it can change drastically from morning to night.Among many things in Iceland I was struck by was the friendliness and helpfulness of the people that was so genuine.

Then, there was the stunning beauty of the landscapes. Iceland has not many inhabitants, so driving from one place to another revealed all kinds of different uninhabited volcanic landscapes, covered with different growth of moss in different shades of green, according to when the latest volcanic eruptions occurred. At times the landscape seemed otherworldly with all kinds of unique formations, sometimes just a horse here and there, sometimes a few sheep. I wanted to take pictures of everything and took many videos as we were driving.

We stopped to visit and marvel at the most amazing waterfalls, mysterious geothermal parks where geysers erupted in different time intervals, glaciers flowing down the mountains like rivers, quaint little villages, black sand beaches and a covered tomato farm powered by thermal hot water where I ate the most delicious tomato soup. At that farm they also raised the unique Icelandic horses who performed a show for us.

Our guide knew the best stop to see the iconic puffins, who seemed to want to perform for us flying back and forth and doing all kinds of things . Another one of the highlights was a cruise on a glacier lake where we sailed among junks of ice broken off the glacier and saw some seals. And of course we needed to visit one of Iceland’s famous geothermal lagoons. We visited the Sky Lagoon which is less crowded than the better-known Blue Lagoon.

I liked the food in Iceland, especially in Reykjavik there are restaurants for any kind of palate. Many chefs blend Iceland recipes with other cultures and offer unique and delicious creations. Since I have certain dietary restrictions, I am limited in my choices. I have to say in Iceland I had some of the best gluten and lactose free dishes.

I added a few extra days in Reykjavik where my tour started – to relax a bit before and after the tour and to experience Reykjavik’s unique sights and culture in more depth. One of them was a Lava Show - the only place in the world where you can experience molten lava in an indoor setting.

Some visitors choose to explore Iceland by renting a car. There are also cruises that cruise around Iceland.

Whichever way you want to travel to this unique destination, I can create a seamless itinerary with the help of the different suppliers I am connected with and who specialize in Iceland itineraries. The suppliers also have offices in Iceland, in case you need extra assistance or support while you are there.

So, don’t hesitate and let’s plan your Iceland Adventure, creating many unique memories!

Competent, comprehensive, careful planning from Gabriela helped make this trip more than we dreamed of. From our first contact through the end of the trip she was always available to answer questions and make gentle suggestions - which always were spot on. By the time we left I felt comfortable that I had everything I needed to enjoy this long-anticipated journey, which ended up filling us to the brim wit memories and photos of beautiful Europe from Budapest to Amsterdam along the rivers. Thanks, Gabriela!

Our Birthday trips

We met Gabriella two years ago. Together we planned our trip to Italy and our recent European River Cruise. Gabriella is very happy to have your input. Both trips were planned to the letter. We enjoyed our vacations so much thanks to all the details Gabriella took care of. She has become a friend. We recently recommended her to a co worker, who was thrilled with the money he saved and all the little things that were taken care of. Working with Gabriella will put your mind at rest, to ensure a delightful, stress free trip. She does all the work, and it doesn't cost you a penny. We can't say enough about how professional and friendly she is.
